Full of charachter older rooms and bathrooms, but still comfortable. Lovely, friendly owner. Good bicycle storage in the secure courtyard, and fab breakfast. Good location right near the middle of town.

Lovely friendly welcome, great room, Hortence was very helpful with our requests. She arranged flowers and champagne for our birthday celebrations. Although the museum was supposed to be closed she was willing to open it for us and leave us to wander around and explore.
From the moment you walk in then you know that this is a hotel that is different. The sweet and coffee shop sets the scene for somewhere that is quirky and interesting. The room itself was comfortable with a nice lounge area as well as a nice bed.
Well placed for the town with a nice restaurant just down the lane.
It was a delightful few days, we would return.

This is an amazing space to stay! I luxuriated in the largest room which has two levels. It has a spectacular king sized bed with wonderful bedding. The upper level has a living area with a delightful view out of a large window that opens. There is a lovely shared balcony right outside of the room. This spot is perfect for a traveller who likes comfort. The bathroom is off of the entranceway and is luxurious. I did not look at any other rooms but based on the quality of the furniture, towels and bedding my my room, I presume that all of the rooms are nicely appointed and cozy. The owner and staff are charming and excellent ambassadors for the charming city of Deventer. Enjoy!

This excellent B&B is above a sweets shop and coffee musuem and very close to the centre of Deventer. Parking is in an on-street car park and costs apply but it is within easy walking distance. The owner is very helpful with information about the city and places to eat. Our room was very large with a separate sitting area and a little kitchenette. It was all very clean and comfortable with a lovely breakfast served in the shop coffee / tea area.

Pleasantly OK
Having read such glowing reviews we booked our stay with high expectations. It was all pleasantly ok but not quiet as charming as we hoped - the room was a little small and cramped, the little inhouse museum was closed and as breakfast was an extra charge all in all it was not a cheap price for a two star stay. Location was good.

This is definitely not a modern hotel. It reminded me of my grandmother's house of quite a few years back. But the building itself is cozy and cute, with details everywhere. We felt very welcome, and the personnels was friendly. The room and bathroom could have been cleaner. The room was spacious and the bed was nice and soft. Personally, I like modern hotels more, but for one night it was okay. It was a different experience, and it fitted perfectly in historic Deventer, a lovely old city.

I will start off by saying the two ladies here were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

The hotel itself just isn’t my thing. It is all very quaint with old furniture and I have to be honest I prefer something more modern.

The room was very quite. The only thing you hear are the church bells. The bed and pillows however we very soft. Probably too soft for my liking.

The bathroom was basic but lots of towels and toiletries.

Breakfast was traditionally Dutch and there was an endless supply of coffee.

If you like traditional you will love this.

It was also a nice touch getting a drink on arrival and a small bag of sweets when leaving.

From the moment you enter this hotel in the Historic Center of Deventer, you know that you are about to experience something completely different. The lobby is not a lobby, but seemingly rather a coffee shop and candy store. And here it is that you are greeted with the outstanding personal service that you will continue to experience throughout your stay. At check in, you are greeted with coffee and a piece of Deventer Koek The rooms have a dated feel, but they are very cozy and well furnished. The bed is large and comfortable. The breakfast is outstanding. You will have to do a little searching to find the special things it includes. The daughter and mother that run the hotel are exceedingly friendly and helpful. The reception is not 24 hours, so when the store in front closes you will have to use the key provided to enter through the back door. I highly recommend this place.

Of course, the first impression is how lovely this historic building is but it was also the fact that my friend & I were greeted so warmly by the hotel's owner. The room was very simple but clean with a very good bathroom/shower. There were very gezellig (cozy) places to sit and chat on the hotel's small terrace and the location is perfect - downtown! The breakfast was also very nice with friendly staff. I will definitely stay there again. OH and important point: dog friendly!

A 10 minute walk from Deventer station and easy to find. Warmly welcomed on arrival with coffee and Deventer cake. The room was ensuite and had a small kitchenette, was clean and comfortable. History started in the hotel with the coffee/sweet shop and museum. Thanks to Hortance and the staff. Be aware that shops are closed on Sunday and also many closed on Mondays.

"The upstairs rooms have steep stairs so if mobility is an issue ask for a room downstairs. Some rooms have kitchettes and en suites. Emailing the owner Hortence is easy and she always replies."
