A 10 minute walk from Deventer station and easy to find. Warmly welcomed on arrival with coffee and Deventer cake. The room was ensuite and had a small kitchenette, was clean and comfortable. History started in the hotel with the coffee/sweet shop and museum. Thanks to Hortance and the staff. Be aware that shops are closed on Sunday and also...

...that goes for the hotel, the tea room/coffee shop and museum on site as well as the friendly welcoming staff. Upon our arrival, we were offered tea with Deventer cakes in the tea shop. We were then shown to our room - which was well lit and cheerful. All of the rooms are named for Hanseatic cities - we stayed...

We had a very warm welcome at the hotel. The entrance is via a small coffee shop which also sells a lot of candy. The hotel itself is behind a small courtyard next to a small museum. Rooms are reasonable in size although slightly dated with very soft beds. There's no 24 hour reception but you can reach the street...

This is a very nice family run hotel in the center of the historic Hansa town Deventer. At the front is a coffee and sweets shop in a building dating to the 17th century. There is also has a small museum Behind that is the hotel which you reach through the shop. The shop and museum have limited opening times...

We did not stay in the hotel, rather came in the afternoon for coffee and cake. Sat in a very pleasant garden. While waiting for the coffee - looked at the amazing coffee machines museum. And of course bought some traditional sweets in the shop.

We have just returned from a short 4 night holiday to this hotel, we visited it with two of our friends (the husband is Dutch), we were made extremely welcome by the owner Hortance. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere and is very interesting with its old fashioned 'Sweet Shop' and Museum set within the hotel. The rooms we had...

If you are after old world charm and fabulous hospitality you will find it here. Hortence is a wonderful host. The breakfast area is part of the old lolly shop, where you can purchase lollies to take home. The hotel is in the town centre and is only minutes walk away from the railway station and a supermarket. The cobbled...

I stayed here for 5 nights while in Deventer for work. The hotel is small so not too many other visitors which helps make it a very quiet place to stay. Rooms were comfortable, ours had an on suite and kitchenette. Hortence and her staff were extremly friendly and helpful. She opened the hotel laundry to let us do our...

I stayed here for one night and really enjoyed my stay. Deventer is a lovely town and this was a characterful place to spend the night. We chose it as a base to travel to the Kroller Muller Museum from and it was a great choice. We arrived early in the day but were welcomed and given a drink in...

“The upstairs rooms have steep stairs so if mobility is an issue ask for a room downstairs. Some rooms have kitchettes and en suites. Emailing the owner Hortence is easy and she always replies.”
