Ok, the floor was slanting, but what do you expect in a house from 1200something? The bed was straight, the coffee and tea ready, everything you need available. Helpfull staff and in the centre of beautiful Deventer. Certainly a hotel with character, service, location and quality at a good price.

We stayed at this hotel as part of self guided bike tour with the excellent Tulip cycling company. (this hotel is why you should try to go with a company like Tulip that is based in and run by people from Netherlands...I would never have found this) Our two storied suite was simply amazing - light and airy, with a... No discussion. An excellent place to stay in the old town of Deventer. Car parking available. Calm and overlooking Ijssel river. This unknown area one of most beautiful in East Holland. Visit nearby Zutphen center also Hansen city. And Brockhorst using the ferry. Enjoy and relax. But be prepared for big bangs from church clock in the stillness of the... More

I have stayed in this hotel a few years ago whilst staying for the Stilts weekend with a friend. The location was just perfect. Peter the owner is very personable. They also have apartments just round the corner of the hotel. My parents stayed in an Apartment in Oct 15 and the room was just amazing. Plenty of room and... More

Peter was a great host and took us a few doors down the street to our apartment. It was gigantic. Beautiful view of the river, and he left a couple glasses of sparkling wine which was a nice and welcome touch. Very spacious apartment, good wifi, and he provided a parking pass for a nominal fee. Really glad we found... More

Deventer is a lovely, lively town and well worth a couple of nights if you are nearby. Admittedly, when we arrived (first Sunday in August) it was a bit TOO lively, as the whole town was shut to traffic for the annual book fare. That being so, it allowed Peter to show what a good hoste he is - he... More

Peter greeted us outside the hotel as our GPS had failed us. He was very gracious. Helped us make a dinner reservation. Our room was clean and functional. The breakfast was solid. Hopefully we will be able to return to Deventer and stay here again.

We stayed in the spacious apartment in the roof (Apartment no 5) and wished we were staying longer. It was great to be staying in an authentic old building and the apartment had been converted so that it was genuinely comfortable to live in as well as stylish and modern. We were able to cook a meal in the large... More

We stayed in one of the apartments that are part of this hotel. Very large living space and beautiful picture windows overlooking the river. Best location close to restaurants , sights of this beautiful town. Peter the owner went out of his way to assist whenever we needed help.
