The key cards for the apartment were delivered so late that they were not available before we left home. So we had to get them at the reception, but this was not a problem.

As usual with Roompot, we found the accommodation very clean. However, this only applies to the interior. The balcony railing had not been cleaned for a long time, which was evident by the many cobwebs, dirt and insect remains. Therefore, the balcony was not usable for us.

It is strange that in the accommodation there is only a cheap Etna microwave, which has no additional functions like grill or oven. Since there is no other oven, there are not many possibilities to prepare food, which is a big disadvantage in our opinion.

The equipment of the apartment was good, everything worked. However, we would have liked the TV in the living room to have Internet access to use special functions. It was probably technically possible, but the settings were obviously blocked.

As the Wi-Fi in the accommodation worked well, it was possible to use the laptops and smartphones we brought with us without any problems.

There are some recommendable restaurants near the accommodation and the tourist center of Volendam is within walking distance.

Dear Johnny, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. We're glad to hear that you found the accommodation clean and appreciated the convenient location near restaurants and the tourist centre of Volendam. It's great that you were able to make use of the Wi-Fi in your accommodation as well. We apologize, however, for the inconvenience caused by the late delivery of the key cards and the unclean balcony railing. We will address this issue with our housekeeping team to ensure it doesn't happen again. Regarding the microwave, we understand your concern about the lack of additional functions. We'll take your feedback into consideration for future improvements. As for the TV, we're sorry for any confusion regarding the settings, and we appreciate your input on this matter. We look forward to welcoming you back on a future stay. Best regards, Roompot

As a holiday park, you get the perfect balance of peaceful location but nearby to Volendam and short bus ride to central Amsterdam. The supermarket is handy, swimming pool clean and the pool/darts bar was fun. Reception staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The accommodation was more basic than I would have hoped for or expected. Uncomfortable lounge furniture, no oven, mediocre bed comfort, poor room lighting and small TV screen. The home was clean but not spotless. The doors didn’t seem particularly secure. Small improvements would really help build the guest experience.

We booked a cottage for 7 people at this Roompot Resort on the outskirts of Volendam overlooking a marina.

Volendam is a short drive from Amsterdam and other typical Dutch attractions such as Zaanse Schans, Broeker Veiling and fishing villages such as Marken, Edam, etc. The park is a short walk from Volendam's lively harbour, restaurants and shops.

Our canal house consisted of a main floor and two other floors. The first floor had two bedrooms, a toilet and separate bathroom while the top floor had another bedroom and bathroom.
Our accommodation was recently renovated, new furntiture, all look fresh and clean. The kitchen was basic though, we missed an oven but there was a dishwasher and plenty of crockery, etc. After reading comments about cleanliness, we were happy to find a clean accommodation, spot on!

Because of the lockdown, facilities were closed so we cannot vouch for the restaurant and swimming pool. There was a good-size grocery shop next to the reception though where you can buy freshly baked bread, etc.

We enjoyed our stay, our accommodation was opposite the entrance of marina, beautiful view. For those looking for an accommodation close to Amsterdam, we can highly recommend this holiday park.

Must visit place in Northern Netherlands. You can go for a day trip from Amsterdam but I do recommend to spend the night over.
A charming and beautiful small tourist place. Try to go in a sunny day to enjoy its best.
Walk around the Marina and also around the village.

The hotel is one of the most weird places I've been in my life!
The service quality is not low but rather nonexistent as well as nonprofessional.
The English translation for everything they have is misspelled and even my last name on the card I got in order to get into the hotel had it misspelled!
Before we checked out I asked the receptionist about all of these things and she simply said she's sorry; but after she asked us if we had a nice time there, I told her that NO and that I'll never ever come to this hotel again!!! Then she paid more attention to our comments but anyhow nothing was taken into consideration!
Honestly I'll never recommend this hotel to anyone unless you want to sleep on 100 year (very true) old beds and have the rooms smell like cigarette smoke really strong!

I have stayed here with my relatives during Valentinesday 2011; the rooms itself are quite comfortable, based on our experience in rooms 213, 214 and 215. However, some rooms do not have a bath, only a shower. I don't know the reason for this difference as we have not made any particular requests regarding the showers/or bath. The price itself was nog very expensive. I paid a total of EUR 50 for one night for two persons. However, breakfast was excluded from this price. Breakfast cost EUR 12,50 extra. I recommend you to not take the breakfast at the hotel, as there is a supermarket literally right next to the hotel where you can get even more for the price of 12,50 EUR!

The main reason however, that I am posting a review here is that I want to share my experience with this hotel in relation to their service. I am extremely dissapointed in their after-service. We checked out at this hotel at 10:00 in the morning, and I discovered I have left a necklace in my hotelroom, I knew the exact place where I have left it. It was not an expensive necklace but was dear and valueable to me, as I already was on my way home, I immediately called the hotel 30 minutes after check out (new guests check in at 15:00) and have requested them to put my necklace aside. The desk told me that they would handle it and would call me back the same day. That never happened! And when I called them the next day whether they have found my necklace, they told me that they would call me back later again!! My fear eventually came to reality: no one has ever taken the time to go to my room and get the necklace and now they claim it disappeared. I am sad that they did not go to my room straight away when I informed them. And I am dissapointed in myself to trust the people at Marinapark to take care of my belonings after I had already checked out.

I have posted my experience on the website where I had booked the hotel (booking), but they did not post my review. I abhor this manner of conducting business and felt the public had a right to know ALL personal experience with this hotel, not just the people that are stating they had wonderful experiences.

Conclusion: nice stay as regards to the rooms, bad service!

1. The hotel sends all emails in Dutch only though works for different countries. Probably, there were the instructions what to do in the case of late arrival but I could not learn about that since I don't know Dutch. However, we were lucky to meet other people nearby who, trying to help us, started to knock actively the hotel closed door, and the security came out and provided the room key.
2. The room had no linens !!!! No sheets, to towels, no pillowcases! Their Expedia page does not notify about that. We had to sleep on the mattresses. Instead of pillows, we placed our coats.
3. It turned out in the morning, that we have to pay extra for the linens. We paid since we had no choice.
4. No hangers in bathrooms. While taking shower, where you should place the towel? The rooms have wardrobes but the general impression is that the management does not case about the convenience and the elementary coziness.
5. Very important: they really charge 65 euro as the security deposit. In many other countries I visited, the security deposit is just secured on the credit card without actual charge or returned back to the same credit card. For this hotel, they ask about the bank account to return. By accident, I knew my bank account but notified the receptionist that my bank (J.P.Morgan Chase) charges fees for the wire transactions and asked her to avoid such a charge since I would not receive the entire security deposit back. No surprise, I was refused. Yesterday, I received back 65 euro minus $15 the expected bank fee. So, I lost $15 thanks to their security deposit.

Really enjoyed my stay here, very comfortable hotel, room was large with a big bathroom and a lovely deep bath with plenty of hot water. We had a roof terrace to sit out on and the room was cleaned every day to a really high standard. We had a kettle and television in the room. We did not have breakfast here because it seemed quite expensive but there was a supermarket in the complex which was reasonably priced, there was also a swimming pool and some sort of entertainment for children. There was a bar close by and the hotel is close to the marina and a short walk to Volendam where there are many restaurants and a Saturday market. We had our photos taken in national costume and walked to Edam during our stay. Volendam really is a beautiful place to stay.

As part of an organised Rugby Tour our team and our family stayed over the recent Easter weekend.
The accommodation was vastly better than we could possiblyof expected. It was immaculately clean and superbly furnished.

On site restaurants, the take away outlet and bars were good value for money . The village is adjacent to a marina and has a lot of charm. The whole complex is designed to fit with the locality in terms of architecture and blends very well.
Only a 5 minute walk to the centre of town and well located.

Absolutely loved the place and hope to go back soon. Very well located for trips into Amsterdam although sadly we never got time to do this.
Also thought the staff in reception, the supermarket and bars were lovely and very polite.

Did'nt want to come home so soon. Would imagine in the peak of the summer season a resort like this would be hugely popular and extremely busy.

Excellent stay .Would easily reccommend

Situated very near to the centre of Volendam (5 min walk) as well as near and well connected with Amsterdam (15 mins drive) MarinaPark is a quiet lovely place where spend time in Waterland.
In fact Volendam is literally a jewel with a beautiful marina and many gorgeous Pubs and restaurants.
Once in Volendam you can easily reach every town in Waterland and all of which (Edam,Marken ecc) are 100% classic Dutch towns...
