Amazing little place to stay on the little island. The hotel is just one street behind the main marina with the bars and restaurants, which is only 2 mins walk. The public car park is 4 mins walk. The stairs are narrow and pretty vertical but it's a part of the charm, we didn't have any problems with that. The... More

We stayed for 1 night and were so pleased that we did. Marken is a peaceful old farming/fishing village which was once an island in the Ijsselmeer. It's now joined to the mainland by a man-made road which was spectacular to drive along. We parked our car in the islands dedicated car park and then walked with our bags for... More

It's been our 4th visit in this hotel and we just love it. We've always spent 1 night here because the village is very small and there is not much to do unless you have a boat. But the village has definitely its spirit. The hotel is small but cosy with an excellent cuisine! :-) The only reason why I'm... More

We chose this place for a 1 night stay on our way to Friesland, one of us already had been here and found the area quite charming. And indeed it is, the hotel is only one located on this small 'island' near Amsterdam and Volendam. We had chosen the 'suite' (which is just a few € more than the luxury... More

This was our favorite spot on our trip with my niece for her high school graduation trip thru 8 countries in Europe. It was a combination of the owners/staff, boutique hotel, location, and most importantly the food. This is one place I would love to go back to stay. Be sure to have the homemade croissants and ice cream. We... More

I stayed here with a group of colleagues last week. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and comfortable and has a charming old world atmosphere. I had read other reviews about the steep stairs and I thought I was accustomed to Dutch stairs but these are something special. Luckily I was only dealing with an... More

“Americans you are compelled to travel with tons of luggage be sure to drive up and drop off, as parking is several beautiful scenic blocks away. Like in most boutique hotels you also have to carry your own bags to your room, up the stairs. I teach my nieces and nephews to travel with a carry on. They complain until the trip is over and from then on only travel with a single carry on. We usually are gone 2 - 3 weeks.”
