Location is near the beach entrance, as hotel guests it is nice to be able to walk to beach anytime. A lot of places at the harbour to walk around too. It's good for a change instead of just beach and shops. The room was facing harbour with beautiful sunset view everyday. At night we could hear the noise from the street but it was ok. Comfortable room with Air Condition, sound system in bath room an happy to have a bathtub after a day at the beach. Modern and beautiful breakfast area, recently renovated. Practical breakfast, all packed individually for hygiene purpose, mini muffins and donuts are the cuttest. Perhaps a little bit taste of Netherland would be interesting for international guests. Dinner menu was modern and delicious.

We arrived without making a reservation, Anna at the front desk matched the cheapest Booking price and allowed us to switch rooms to ensure we had the longest sun on our balcony. Room was clean, kitchen provided us with cutlery when we ordered in from outside. Very helpful!

We had a lovely 2 night stay at IJmuiden this weekend. Happy to see the hotel takes the Covid-19 safety measurements serious which made us feel safe. The front desk had a screen and there where hand sanitising stations throughout the hotel.
There was quite a long queue to check in. The lady at reception was very kind and appoligised for the wait. There was a health questionare to completed and for the breakfast we had to reserve, all of which with taking payment etc just took some extra time. Not critisising the lady, rather compliments on her warm welcome and remaining calm an friendly... but the hotel looked to be very busy she could really have done with a second person helping we did think? Perhaps a staffing issue?
We did get a thorough explanation on all precations taking place including no stayover cleaning and how there were limited tables per time slot for dining and breakfast, so we decided on roomservice breakfast the 1st and a table the 2nd. Roomservice was a little late but of decent quality
In the restaurant one way direction and staff keeping safe distance. We found some staff more knowledgable then others, perhaps some were temping. But all were friendly and we enjoyed the food and safe but warm service.
Being close to a spaceious beach makes this location great for a break.
Compliments on the management and staff to adapting well in these weird times. We did manage to relax and unwind.
Staff here work very hard from what we could see, but were still most friendly and kind.
We hope to do this again next year, but may even consider adding another weekend to our trips in fall.

Rooms were clean, the interior design of the hotel is loveley too.
People at reception were very welcoming and friendly. However the breakfast is overcharged and there is a certain level of miscommunication from the kitchen. We were told breakfast is served until 11 but by 10 am everything was gone and the kitchen didn't even bother handing out any more yoghurt or anything. The same issue at night. The bar menu says snacks are served until 22 and they said the kitchen was already closed at 21.45. The waiters were friendly but the hotel management should consider that people expect something differ ent when they pay that much for breakfast. To anyone staying there I recommend to have breakfast elsewhere. Also no gluten free options

Hotel claims it is a non-smoking property, and even threatens patrons with a €250 fine should they dare to light up. Great, I'm in favor of all that.
Woke up at 6 a.m. and detected a distinct cigarette smell. I was sleeping with my balcony door wide open, and could hear somebody coughing. Sure enough, the guy in the room next door was out on his balcony busy wrecking his lungs.
Now I do not expect the hotel to keep a beady eye on all its guests 24/7, but if you declare yourself a non-smoking hotel, you should perhaps not equip the balconies with ashtrays? Especially given that a good proportion of the hotel's clientele obviously belong to social groups were smoking is rife.

My sister and I spent one night here as a belated birthday present. The view of the marina from our small balcony was great! The room itself is fine, although the heating/airconditioning system is somewhat outdated. Nice bathroom with bath. Breakfast take away buffet worked fine and even included some scrambled eggs. Tasty baked-off rolls, sweets, cheeses, meats. Simple yoghurt pots and prepackaged juices.
Very friendly and accommodating staff (the duvet was a bit too thin for our liking, and we could pick up an extra one downstairs without problems).
Location is good for a visit to the beach and marina. A bus stop nearby takes you into IJmuiden or Amsterdam twice an hour.

Friendly and helpful staff. Nice room which was clean and felt hygienic. Nice gym. Quite a nice location although perhaps a little remote for my liking. I had room service evening meal and found that the choice of food was poor as was the food itself so I wouldn’t recommend eating there.

Since we enjoyed our stay at this hotel (when it was still Holiday Inn) we decided to book another stay at this hotel in IJmuiden. The hotel is right a the beach and the marina, which also included a few restaurants and shops.
We stayed at a family room which consisted of a living room including a bunk bed and a seperate bedroom which worked well for us. A spaceous room with great views.
Breakfast offered a good selection on food both cold and hot dishes.
We noticed that the hotel was renovated since the last time we stayed at this hotel and new furniture was added.
We were most of all impressed by the friendly staff of this hotel, very welcoming and attentive and have therefore no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone interested.

First off, the staff; friendly and professional, they are very good.
Second, the room:
Hard flooring, which is obviously not as warm and cosy as carpet. Straight away I didn't find the room welcoming.
There is a constant- quiet, but noticeable hum from the door seal out onto the patio, this could only be stopped by opening the door. That worked OK, because some genius has situated the air conditioning unit behind the curtain, so that it can't cool the room. So the door being open all night let in some cool air.
Two single beds pushed together...Why? Is a double too much to ask for?
The mattress felt soft at first, but when I lay on it, I felt like it was a hard mattress and I couldn't get comfortable, but that's maybe just me
The pillows were a bit odd, it was.lime someone has taken.a.big pillow and.stuffed it into a.small case, very weird.
The duvet was.a.bit crap too.
The shower is fitted so that the water sprays towards the floor, another brilliant design feature.
The TV points up at the ceiling
The sink is too high and a weird distance away from the edge of the cabinet it sits on
The food in the restaurant was top notch, and tasty too.
That's all I have to say about that

We had an excellent stay at the Apollo Seaport IJmuiden Hotel. We spent ascension day at the hotel and it was a really nice hot summer's day and being so close to the beach was great. It was our first hotel visit since the corona crisis started. We did not know what to expect, but while the hotel had taken all efforts to make us feel safe, that did not stop them from being extremely hospitable. We felt very welcome and every staff member we interacted with was extremely friendly. We will be back!

Hi. There is no direct train or bus service to Amsterdam so you would need to change. I suggest you do a web search to find the appropriate routes.
Amsterdam Slotterdijk station is reached by a regular bus service from a stop just a short distance from the hotel. Buses run more frequently during the summer months. To get to the centre of Amsterdam you can then take a train from Slotterdijk to Amsterdam Central station, a very frequent service taking only a few minutes. There are probably bus services from Slotterdijk also but we always used the train.
No we do not have a transport service, but we can book you a taxi or show you howe to get there walking.
Kind Regards,
Front Office
