Lesley was a very gracious hostess and made us feel at home in her B&B. My husband and I had many a lively conversation with her and the other guests while enjoying our scrumptious breakfasts. There was plenty of food! We stayed four nights and the location could not have been better. Because of the B&B's excellent location, we were... More

My husband and I wanted to experience Amsterdam the way people who live there do and this B&B certainly provides that in a lovely, typically Dutch canal house. Be prepared for climbing some steep stairs but worth it when you get up there. Our large room on the top floor was very nice and the street was a wonderful street,... More

My fiance and I have just arrived home yesterday after spending 3 fantatsic nights with friends at this b & b. We were pleased to find that the pictures on the website were 100% true. We stayed in the Lady Grey room which was beautifully laid out and very clean. We had a small but very clean and smart modern... More

I have to admit the owner was very kind and gracious, however the room we stayed in (downstairs) was VERY cold, dark and smelled of mildew. We voiced our concern to the owner about the temperature and she told us it was "plenty warm". We ended up sleeping in our cashmere sweaters every night! Further, she has a CAT, which... More

We stayed in this B&B for six days in January. The proprietress was very kind, provided excellent breakfasts and accommodating as far as our requests for access to a microwave and early breakfasts. Our dog was welcomed. The room we stayed in had a separate entrance which was nice with the dog. I found the room to be a little... More

My husband and I have been living in Holland and as friends were coming over we all got together in Amsterdam to celebrate New Year. Aemstelhuys had been recommended to us and the house, location and our hostess, Lesley, more than met our expectations. The old house was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we were welcomed with hot chocolate and... More

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful little B&B between Christmas and New Years Eve. Lesley the owner, is a wonderful and interesting lady that has definitely travelled the world and has many stories to tell. The breakfast provided a wonderful start to the day, and the room was so cozy and comfortable. We had the basement room, which... More

What a great stay at this historic property! Aemstelhuys (or Amstel House) is in a perfect location for getting to all the famous attractions of Amsterdam, but is ideally located on a quiet street for those who need to rest after a long flight or after a hard day of sightseeing. Our room was very clean and tastefully appointed. The... More

My husband and I stayed with hostess Leslie in September. She is very interesting and well traveled. She offers an amazing breakfast and many helpful tips for things to do in Amsterdam. The house is very central to everything but also on a quiet little alley off a canal. We had the double room which was VERY comfortable and lovely.... More

I stayed at Aemstelhuys with my sister in October for 3 nights and we really enjoyed our stay at the B&B. Our room in the attic was beautifully presented and the beds very comfortable! The location is fantastic, away from the busier and slightly seedy centre of town, in an area which is filled with friendly locals rather than tourists... More
