    After booking the hotel, I received an email with a link to my personal Sir Adam page, where you can request pre-arrival items, room type, pillow menu etc... One of the things requested was early check in time (10am) when we arrived around 10:30am the receptionist abruptly reminded me it was too early for check in, but they would check if a room was ready... A room was ready and upon arrival at the room, the cleaning lady was inside on her phone... The room itself was on the small side, but nice enough... At check-in they sprung a refundable €100 deposit on top of the room rate!...

    This is a very beautiful Hotel, with great views. The room have a high quality room-interior... Everything was perfect except our Checkin: We arrived last Sunday during ADE Closing, we got our Room almost 2 hours deleyed after 15:00 regular Checkin-Time, while the Event we came for, begun at 16:00 (The Loft at Adam)... The deal was that we will get an E-Mail when the room is ready but this did not work, i had to call short before 17:00H to find out that the room is ready now... The next checkout day i asked for late ckeckout (the website says book with us and get 1 hour early and late checkout) after a long deal of discussion and i told we got our room 2 hours deleyed we got 1 hour late checkout...

They also promised to send me an e-copy of my final room bill at the time of check out but until now, I haven’t got anything... Called hotel number and waited for 10mins on an overseas call and no response... I won’t be staying with this hotel or its chain ever again... Also, the materials used for the furniture and fittings in room are poor quality and cleaning is bad... So some parts of the room (carpet, power plugs, bathroom sink) are dirty as they don’t/cannot clean them well...

Lastly the thing that upsets me the most, we chose the deluxe room of the hotel and a grand hotel like this you expect everything cleaned (the minimum) however there was not one spot in the room that was not covered with dirt, it was everywhere, we thought the cleaner will see it and do something however shockingly no one did anything, only the dirt near the sink was cleaned since there was some water there other than that every other place was ignored...

They really try and encourage you to pay 25e for a buffet breakfast (at check-in and in the venue) because they then dont have to serve you or care about your experience... Upon checkout, I told the reception staff this who were helpful but it was too little too late... There are some nice local places around that are much better quality, have friendly staff and better value...

My only criticism was we weren’t aware until we arrived that they take 100euro deposit per night when you arrive... We received a final bill with several items that we hadn’t used... Luckily the person on the reception desk was very good and refunded this without argument!...

They charged us €200 at the desk as a ‘deposit’ for the room incase we used the mini fridge or took anything which seems fair enough but there was no mention of this when booking...     ...Wrote 2 emails to different email addresses I found from the communications sent by hotel to me and also tried calling them with an expensive overseas call... And the amount charged was €500 more than booking confirmation and the confirmation at front desk on the day of my check out... Left with no choice but to write this review and also asking my credit card to block their charges... I won’t be staying with this hotel or its chain ever again...

    Came over on the Eurostar which was a 5 minute walk from Sir Adam via a ferry which goes every two minutes, 24hrs a day. Don't be put off getting a ferry as it was quick and effortless... We were met by Tom at reception who was the perfect host, even got a free welcome drink on arrival... Room was lovely, clean and comfortable... Our towels were ok, but Sir Adam must invest asap, little cost for more gain... I would definitely recommend this hotel - Fun - Comfortable - Great Staff...

    When we arrived at the hotel we were offered a welcome drink, the kitchen was about to close as we arrived quite late but the staff at reception made sure we had something to eat which was delivered to our room, they were so friendly, helpful and professional as were all the staff that worked at the hotel... Breakfast was excellent with so much choice, we had breakfast included which I would highly recommend!... we were able to catch a ferry ( which was free) to Amsterdam central station, the walk to the ferry was only a couple of minutes as was the ferry ride, you could use the ferry 24/7 from there we were able to walk to all the places we needed to get to, so the location was fantastic... All in all we had a fabulous time and when we just wanted to relax, there were plenty of places we could sit at the hotel and just chill out, we will definitely stay there again without a doubt, it definitely made our holiday even more enjoyable...

Perfect location for exploring the A’Dam Tower and the 24 hour free ferry service across to Central Station was ideal for hopping on and off... Dan Square is within walking distance once across on the ferry as is a range of metro and tram stops...

    We spent 3 nights at the Sir Adam Hotel in May 2023 - we were there for a long weekend, travelling by Eurostar and chose the hotel having seen it featured on Travel Man and for its location for arrival by train being just a free ferry ride and five minute walk across from the station. We were straight away impressed by the very warm welcome at reception - and the complimentary drinks!... We paid extra for a river view room and it was well worth it, watching the boats coming and going, and the sunsets... The Butcher Social Club restaurant on site had great atmosphere, very reasonably priced food and drinks and attentive staff who were able to accommodate us whenever we turned up... Although located on the north Island, because the ferry ran all day and night and every few minutes we had no worries about getting to the main city or back again in the evening at any time...

You take a free ferry to access the downtown area that just adds to the unique adventure... I would highly recommend this as a great place to stay with the easy access to the metro, trains, and city center...

Maintenance fixed the light the next morning... The second morning I was greeted with cold water only in the shower... I contacted reception and they informed me there was an issue with the boiler and provided no resolution so it was an unenjoyable cold shower that day... To top it off, after 3 days of having breakfast in the hotel, it progressively got worse... While leaving the breakfast area, the lady called me back asking me to sign for the raw eggs I had been served... We didn’t realise until after we booked that The Lookout is part of this hotel which was a bonus!... You do have to pay to go up there and use the swing but you get a discount if paid through reception... I think likely the bar had not been restocked properly when we arrived... Luckily the person on the reception desk was very good and refunded this without argument!...

The girl at the reception didn’t let us know at what time was the breakfast, didn’t serve us the complimentary champagne glass and the couple next to us had one, etc... The location is good, central Ams you can take a free 30 second ferry to get to the center faster, they have bike rental x 24h (19€), the breakfast is really good!...

    We travelled with our two young children and got the adjoining rooms with one king in one room and two twins in the other. Although the rooms are on the small side, this gave enough space for the kids to run around... They LOVED the two themed lifts/elevators - one disco, and one karaoke... We also enjoyed the record players, although sadly some of the records were badly scratched... The staff were friendly, and the rooms were very tidy... The breakfasts were very good - the attached restaurant served good quality food, at an excellent value... The ferry across into the central area of the city is very convenient and free, so the location of the hotel being on the other side of the river did not have any impact...

The beds are big and super comfy and the staff are really friendly...     Good location it’s quite nice to go with the ferry and it runs till late. Great entertainment with very friendly staff!... The tv in our room was not working, could not for the life of me figure out what was wrong with the coffee machine and we found some stains on the pillow... These might be small things but we paid €245 for 1 night and then you expect these to be perfect...

    After booking the hotel, I received an email with a link to my personal Sir Adam page, where you can request pre-arrival items, room type, pillow menu etc... The room itself was on the small side, but nice enough... The vinyl record player did not work properly (another feature the hotel touts but fell short of expectations)... At check-in they sprung a refundable €100 deposit on top of the room rate!...

    We stayed here for 5 nights December into January for New Years and it was fantastic. The staff was great and got us situated into our room for an early check in... The room was great, nice furnishings, and bed comfortable... The location was super easy to get into town center... The free ferry runs often and takes you to main central station easily where you can pick up the subway, trams, or buses easily... Everything was lovely during our stay and would definitely come back!...

    Very cool hotel: ground floor has a nice restaurant and bar along with pool table, pinball machines, and other games; rooftop has a couple of swings (!)... My room was uniquely decorated with rock and roll paraphernalia and overlooked the river and Centraal Station... There's a free ferry from behind the train station to the other side of the river where the hotel is located...

    Stayed here back in March for three nights and we couldn’t fault it. The hotel is just a short (one minute) ferry across the river from the main train station... Accessing the rest of the city was also very easy from here... The whole design of the place was really impressive and the added touches such as complimentary beers on arrival, vinyls to take up to your room to choose from, really made the stay... Whilst our room was small it had everything we needed, with a lovely view of the river... It was clean and modern and the bed was comfortable... The communal areas were also great with a lovely bar / restaurant as well as games area...

We had a lovely stay at Sir Adam for our trip to Amsterdam. The staff were lovely and very accommodating! The location was great, the ferries going to Amsterdam central ran every 5 minutes and were super easy to use (and are free!). One thing I would note is that they ask you to pay a deposit of £200 (on a debit card) or £100 (on a credit card) that you get back at the end of your stay. This wasn’t an issue for us but just something to bear in mind!

We stayed at the Sir Adam for our 4 night trip to Amsterdam. The hotel is well positioned, on the Noord side of the city, and quickly accessible by a ferry (which is free to use) from Centraal station. The building is beautiful in itself, and the hotel sits within the first few floors. Our room was a gorgeous river view with 360 degree views - just stunning! We were welcomed by the lovely staff who offered a complimentary welcome drink, including a card and Prosecco bottle (since it was our birthdays). Rooms were cleaned to immaculate standard, and serviced daily upon our request. Overall a brilliantly located, and reasonable priced hotel suitable for couples. Special mention to Bernadette at breakfast who greeted us with a smile every day and remembered our coffee order. Great service thank you!

From the moment we walked through the door we felt welcome, a great team who offered us a drink on arrival & when my wife told her it was my Birthday we were offered 2 free drinks in the Butchers Bar. Check in was easy & a quirky lift to ride to our room with themed lifts, I liked the Karaoke lift although I cleared it out every time. Our room was comfy with a very comfy bed & pillows & although the room was small the layout was very good. We had a record player & we did use it although all the records we tried were terribly scratched. The Sir Adam is the opposite side of the River, opposite the Central Train Terminal, but free Ferry's run 24-7. We actually had a flight cancellation coming home & the team were quick to allow us to keep the room on & made sure that there was no stress. I loved the location, the funky features & the staff, perfect for a short break.

Excellent front desk staff - he left a map with the best brunch places/pancake place/drinks place/etc circled, and a drink coupon for the hotel bar, on our bed when we were out exploring!! The one and only complaint I have was that the A/C didn’t seem to work. It was pretty dang hot and muggy in our room. It did cool down when the sun went down, and we obviously weren’t in the room for most of the day, but it was set to the coldest it could go and was probably hovering around 74°. Otherwise, this is my second stay here and I will always recommend it!

We truly enjoyed our stay. The location, view and activity were beyond our expectations. Although the security of the hotel is of high technological order, depending on the cards for entry to doors, rooms, elevators, when we checked out on the 29th at 6:00 am for our long flight back to Hawaii, there was a communication error in the elevator system, preventing the electronic cards from working. My wife and I had to carry suitcases down several flights of stairs and then find out where to enter the building for a check out. It was a painful experience Hopefully, the hotel has it fixed and has a plan b for that happening again. Notwithstanding that ordeal we would definitely stay there again and it is our go to hotel in Amsterdam now. David Wiseman

Sir Adam can be a quiet oasis on the edge of town, or a raging party right in the middle of the action, depending on what you want. Check-in is easy, customer service is great. Location can't be beat, and while the bar and rooftop club were hopping last weekend, it was as quiet as a church in our room. We've stayed there 3 or 4 times already and will be back!

Really cool hotel and friendly staff. Arrived quit early but still got to check in without any extra cost. Fun with all the pinball machines, ping pong tables etc in the lobby but the most fun thing was the vinyl selection. You had a vinyl player in your room with some vinyls, but could swap these in the lobby. Room was nice and clean, quite industrial which i like. Many fun details, like the vinyl player, el guitar on wall, writing on the mirror and a some bottles of heineken and genever with a recepit of a dutch tradition Kopstootje. Bed was super comfortable and my room had a great view over the river (room even had a binocular). Elevators was quite fun as well, you chose your destination in the elevator lobby, so now buttons inside the elevator. All elevators had like a theme inside and one even had a disco ball. In general really enjoyed my stay here, and even though it was on other side of the river it was so easy accessible with the free boats arriving/leaving 24/7. Of the lesser good parts was the waiting time on the sky bar (not sure if this was part of the hotel or not though). Only one person serving and it took for ages. Breakfast i skipped 2/3 mornings. From me booking at hotels.com it was stated around €45 for breakfast, which is extremly poor price. Most likely this was for a buffet? But the first morning i was looking and could not see any buffet option available? Almost all (good) seats/tables was reserved as well but with limited people at the breakfast. So thought it was strange that they reserve a lot of tables during whole morning and no-ones there (would a assume "reserved from a certain time" would work better?). But in general i would deffinitly consider book this hotel again next time visiting, but breakfast i would recommend to buy elsewhere.

It lost one star primarily because of its price point but otherwise we had a great stay here So let’s talk about the pros: 1. Location. We loved that in a few min (incl 2 min ferry ride) we could be at Centraal station. It made our lives so easy. We could take tram to everywhere and used train from and to airport as well 2. Centraal station itself offers lots of food and drink options but hotel’s on-site restaurant and nearby restaurants also had great food 3. The staff at reception desk was always very nice and extremely efficient 4. Hotel has a decent gym but it’s small 5. While rooms are small in size, we didn’t feel it much as there were 4 floor to ceiling windows in our corner room. The view from our room was lovely. 6. Liked the elevator system where it assigns you a lift and the disco & karaoke elevators :) 7. Loved the modern, music based theme everywhere Cons: 1. One server at the Butcher restaurant was rude. She refused to give us a table because she would have to clean it and insisted that we take the benched seating instead even though I clearly said that I am tired and would like a table with chairs instead. 2. The closet space is very limited 3. Bathroom is small. Shower area is ok but the the sink is tiny and overall space is less

We arrived in Amsterdam at around noon their time. It took us more than an hour to reach the hotel we were confused exhausted and frustrated. Upon check-in Tom and two great ladies (sorry for not remembering your names) immediately took the stress out of us. Hard to explain but the vibe was what CAN we do for you not what do we have to do. This feeling continued throughout our stay. To all of you thank you thank you, whomever is in charge you are also responsible for a lot of this. Room was spotless, thank you to housekeeping! Now the last day at the hotel we were going on a cruise. Tom went above and beyond to say the least, he gets a 20 star rating, we left our passports and money in the safe. We called the hotel and Tom brought it all to the ferry so we were able leave for our trip. Hopefully we will be able to visit again and no question as to where we will stay! Love the room and old school record player...robes too! Very cool!

We were really excited to stay in the hotel however the people at check in counter were rude if you ask them any questions and take more time then you’re suppose to check in and go, such as if the Adam lookout is included or not and would laugh at your face as it’s a given thing for them that it’s not included (not an obvious thing for us since it’s on top of the hotel and there should be some kind of offer for those who stay in the hotel). Moreover, after leaving we have been charged for more than we used in the minibar and we have not been given any explanation for that. Lastly the thing that upsets me the most, we chose the deluxe room of the hotel and a grand hotel like this you expect everything cleaned (the minimum) however there was not one spot in the room that was not covered with dirt, it was everywhere, we thought the cleaner will see it and do something however shockingly no one did anything, only the dirt near the sink was cleaned since there was some water there other than that every other place was ignored.
