Some DIY repairs were definitely required, however, the bed was comfy and the towels were changed daily. If you are looking for a cheap place to lay your head smack bang in the Museum District and are not bothered about the odd hole in the wall or missing tile, then this is the place to stay

The hotel is located both central and in a very quiet neighbourhood. However the loft room where we were staying had multiple defects such as a window that could not open/close, a curtain you could not use, a defect bathroom door, holes in the wall, missing lamps etc.

a broken shower, cold water only, lights need to be fixed, ventilation stays on all night, no service, no lobby, no reception, no breakfast, the telephone doesn´t work, no support, the manager doesn´t even react - they just don´t care at all!

Terrible hotel, no heating in rooms, freezing cold at night, no hot water, no staff around - building work in hallway builders using lift, broken electric plug sockets, dirty shower, no staff around on check out waited 35 minutes just left key on desk. Unusual for a hotel to have no staff on duty in reception at 11am. This is... More

Clean rooms, but need to be freshed up as you see they are used for some years already. Wholes in the towels! Very good bed! We slept very good! Rooms are spacious enough. Not worth to book a Deluxe room (almost same as Standard). Not too strict for check-out. Restaurant with hotel is nice and good to eat a quick... More

location location location, this is the best point. The room was OK the cheapest on the top floor but if it would have been hot (it was not) the air conditioning would have been non existent. People were very friendly and helpful. check in is at 3PM which is inconvenient. design of the room very odd. plugs in odd places,... More

Modern room, every day cleaned, friendly staff, lots of magazines in the room, near to Vondelpark and Rijksmuseum but city centre and station is a 20 and 40 minutes walk or a tram-ride (stop is nearby) Would definitely stay here again!

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
