Absolutely do not come. The hotel is not clean at all, spiders are everywhere and the floors smell like sewage. I had period stained towels and hair all around the bathroom. Spiderwebs and dust are more or less everywhere. The hotel is in part a building site and this is not specified anywhere. Finding the entrance is difficult and the reception id hidden in the 8th floor. Absolutely not recommend. I give one point just because I can’t give zero. A very unpleasant experience.
This is a decent hotel if you are planning a city trip to Amsterdam. There is lots of construction going on around the hotel, you have to follow a diversion to the front of the hotel but only a couple minutes extra walk - well signposted. I didn’t notice any major construction noise and slept well. The Reception staff could’ve been friendlier and more welcoming. The room was of a decent size, a little rough around the edges with some slightly torn wallpaper, the open shower design meant water flooded the bathroom, but nothing a matt couldn’t solve (even if it did get soaked). The tram 26 took you from near the hotel to the city centre in 12 mins which is a major selling point. I would stay again if visiting Amsterdam
Staff were extremely unfriendly and unhelpful, particularly the Morrocan guy at reception, The manager also was very rude, the room was filthy no air conditioning and a lot of construction work going on around the hotel which makes it harder to get in to the hotel, I was left waiting for 20 minutes outside the hotel when I arrived until I was eventually let in, most staff don't speak any English, I would only describe it as a hotel nightmare!
The front desk people were nice but that was the only thing good. There is construction in the area and all the sidewalks and everything are completely destroyed you have to walk twice the distance to get there. The real problem cames in the form of the room not having air conditioning. It was hotter than hell and if you open the windows bugs come in. Also the shower was completely open and the floor completely flooded. The pictures made it look very nice but in reality it’s two floors of a residential building which is very strange also. To be honest I haven’t stayed at a hotel in Amsterdam even at $350 that was worth staying at. This is a terrible city do yourself a favor and pick somewhere else in the world
I travel frequently, but this is the worst run down, dirty, unfriendly, smelling, noisy and outrageous place ever I've been to.No restaurant, lousy service. Prepayment is required for a good reason. Don't book!
We arrived Amsterdam at 0900 hrs and slowly made our way to the hotel after a 13 hours flight from Singapore, with hope that we get lucky with an early check in. We bought 2 six days unlimited Tram and Bus ticket from Amsterdam Central and made our way to the hotel. When we reached the hotel around 1100 hrs, we were told to come back at 1500 hrs for the check in as the room wasn't ready. We left our luggages and went around the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood was nice, with some restaurants and Tesco like marts. Weather was nice and we explored the area before having a meal at Bagels and Beans. A must go as their food is delicious. Now back to the Hotel. They called us at 1400 hrs and told us the room was ready. So we made it to the hotel and got into the room. Looked nice but all that came to a standstill when I couldn't switch on the air conditioner, the refrigerator was not cold and best of all, the phone wasn't working. I had to go one level up to the reception to inform them. They advised that due to the construction work next door, some of the phone lines were disrupted for the time being. As for the air conditioning, it can only dispense hot air due to the cold weather. So they suggested that I keep the window open for cool air to circulate in the room. And they sent a technician to fix the refrigerator. After 10 mins of trying, he said it was working but in reality it wasn't cold at all. We went to the shower and realised that they didn't install a full coverage for the shower area. Soon the whole toilet was wet and we had to line the small towels to contain the water from flowing all over the place. Only good thing was the water pressure. On the following night, we came back and as usual opened the window for the cool air. In 1 hour, half the ceiling were filled with small flies and we only realised it when it started to fall onto the bed!!! Grossed out, we went to the reception at 2330 hrs and realised they don't function 24/7. Luckily for us, there was a late check in and the receptionist showed up. We showed her the pictures and she immediately changed our room, next to the construction site. We moved our bags and crashed. We were greeted in the morning with noise from the construction site as we left the windows ajar. I mean we had to because there is no air conditioning in the room. With lack of sleep, we were constantly tired throughout our stay in the hotel and after 4 days, we left to another hotel. Best move I made. And now to the good part. The staff. Most of them were very friendly and helpful. But a hotel isn't just run well with good staffing. It must be able to amalgamate all aspects of hospitality. I saw that they were not interested in the small touches that would make a traveller feel at home. I am also deeply disappointed with the service I got from AGODA with this booking. I still have not got a call from them despite they promising me to call me back. Overall, I just don't want others to suffer and that's why I took my time to write this review after a long hiatus. Thank you.…
flushed the toilet and everything came up from a drain in the shower and filled up the washroom floor, I could not even call the reception because phone in the room didn't work. I mentioned it to the receptionist first day that phone wasn't working but nothing was done. Also hotel mentioned that they have parking, but they dont have one I had to park under different building. Overall it was the grossest experience of my life. To be honest I don't suggest this hotel to ANYONE
If you consider using Amadi Hotel - please make yourself comfortable and change the decision. Rude staff, rude hotel manager. If you call them or sent mail with some questions - you will be treated as assailant and biggest enemy. They have very interesting way of running business. Never go there!
Hotel is in new nice island area, the on top half is the hotel in a regular building embedded! The deposit charge before checkinn a bit strange and the message frequently to pay the room in advance etc... is pitty! Checkinn functional and frontdesk friendly! Rooms good clean and functional we got one room in 7th floor one in 6th and it's a insider way to go between them. Checkout fine and the mall workplace is affordable and very close! Room price is good
Good hotel with very clean rooms. Coffee, tea, spring water, safe and TV in the room. Beautiful view of the lake and the city. Friendly reception, located on the 8th floor. There are also people living in this building so that can be confusing. Good beds and spacious shower. The fridge has little space. You can easily reach the center of Amsterdam by tram. Due to corona unfortunately no dinner and breakfast now. Shopping center around the corner.
