The location of Aivengo is it's biggest drawcard. Located not a five minute walk from the central trainstation in Amsterdam, it's also walking distance from lots of main attractions and coffee shops. We booked a double bed room with ensuite and the room itself was quite nice, it was a huge space and included a small kitchen and couches. Lighting... More

I stayed at the Aviengo Youth Hostel in Amsterdam for one night, though I had 3 booked. During the first night I could feel my bed (a top bunk) falling apart as I rolled around on the damp, moldy mattress. The person below complained of the noise, and upon ivestigation i realized that the metal barbs the mattress sits on... More

We arrived here so late in the morning, and the receptionist "welcomed" us by opening the shared room door (with the lights off) and showing us our beds on the distance. We had to share 3 showers and 3 restrooms (placed in front of the reception and sharing also the space with a microwave and 2 garbage containers which were... More

I stayed in the 20 person dorm. The room was large enough to not feel cramped but could do with power points throughout the room not just on top of the lockers by the door. Showers were a decent size and toilets were a bit cramped but were always clean. The place could have done with a communal area to... More

Stayed in the private double room. Was spacious, with a kitchen (including a fridge), ensuite and a great view. The room was 6 floors up, but it wasn't to much hassle. Due to it being a wooden structure we were woken a few times by people moving above us in the morning. As a hostel however, it wasn't very sociable... More

Comfortable, spacious room with adequate facilities, however, a man who weren't familiar with walked through our room numerous times to get to his accommodation. As we were staying in an all female dorm we would appreciated if we were informed of this arrangement. A lift would be a good addition. Over all, a good stay.

Stayed in the large dorm room. Bed's were reasonably clean and comfortable and there was ample room for luggage storage below and around the beds. Lacked power points and the safety lockers looked a little below standard (I.E. actually safe). The toilets were painstakingly small whilst the showers were passable. One notable disappointment was the lack of circulating air for... More

I went on a girls trip to amsterdam and we choose a 10 girls room to stay in aivengo hostel. We stayed on a 5th floor without lift and the stairs were in spiral.. The bed was comfy, bathroom quite big but only one person aloud to take bath because there was only one shower. The room also had fridge... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
