This hotel is well located, with cheerful and helpful staff, neat rooms and a nice restaurant. It serves the regular tourist quite well. The rooms and the bathroom are smallish, but quite worth the pricing. Strongly recommended.

This is a very well located hotel right by the main museums and with lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Reception were very helpful in changing the initial room we were allocated which seemed to be smaller than the deluxe we'd booked and was on the 4th floor with high windows and a restricted view. We ended up with a nice quiet room on back on the 2nd floor meaning we slept really well. Even a deluxe room is small - you are in the centre of Amsterdam city - the bathroom is tiny but functional. It could do with a heated rail to dry the towels out. The soap dispenser fell off the wall - having been stuck rather than screwed on. Breakfast offered a reasonable range, particularly good fresh orange juice and lovely breads. Scrambled egg was over-cooked and rubbery but the hard-boiled ones were fine. Plenty of staff on duty keeping the buffet topped up, maybe consider doing eggs to order? Odd scheme of presenting breakfast vouchers rather than giving your room number - more like a hostel than a hotel. Peculiar 'green' policy that means your room isn't serviced at all unless you request it. Paying a decent price, we'd like our beds to be made and bins emptied each day. We didn't need to sheets to be changed on the penultimate day (as they were). Despite this emphasis on green, there was no recycling bin and there were small plastic bottles of toiletries. Found a few bits of detritus on the floor not left by us - a hair grip by the bathroom and part of a chocolate wrapper under the bed. On the first night we returned for a night cap only to be told curtly that the bar had closed at 2230! However, there were plenty of bars across the street. Overall the staff were helpful and responded quickly to requests. A little more attention to the overall guest experience and this would rate the extra star.

My 3rd visit to Amsterdam. Had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Leonardo and even extended one more night. Excellent location, one minute from Rijksmuseum. Van Gogh also just few minutes away. Many Instagramable opportunities even in the hotel room. Lol. My friend liked the hotel so much that she repeated like 5 times we made a great choice. Check in was smooth. Had a couple of questions. Staff at front desk always responsive picking up the phone and helpful. Room is not huge but this is Amsterdam. Luxurious decor and decent materials nonetheless. Breakfast selection is not bad. And, did I mention the staff at the concierge are helpful AND good-looking?

Last week we’ve visited Amsterdam and stayed in the Leonardo Boutique Museum hotel. We arrived a couple of hours early. Luckily this was no problem as the staff was able to check us in already. After a long trip this was very welcome. The staff is extremely polite and well informed about Amsterdam. The rooms are nice and modern. The best thing about this hotel is the friendliness and of course the location. Everything is walking distance and the public transport is well connected. We are for sure going to visit this hotel again next time we are in Amsterdam

What is the smallest room I’ve ever stayed in my life around 8 m², Honestly speaking not my cup of tea. Also the price has a few surprises. Enquire why was the room so small and I was told most rooms are the size absolutely tiny the bed was almost up against the wall on all sides.

Stayed here for 3 nights, it was the day after Kings Day so that's be why it was a little more expensive but all in all for 3 nights Inc city tax etc ot was €794 .. a little steep. This was a deluxe room with no breakfast. Amsterdam Hotel rooms are notoriously small so I booked one a bit bigger than the 'comfort' room. It was very clean and just as in the pictures. I did request a high room with views as per other recommendations but this was unavailable when we we arrived. The night steward was not very polite when we checked in but everyone else we encountered was very nice. The bar is less of a bar and more of an area that drinks are available, I say this as I never seen anyone at it over the stay. We did pick up some drinks and wine for our room and it was well priced. The bathroom in our room was tiny, just toilet, sink, shower, no space for two people at one time, it was fine with us as we knew to expect this in Amsterdam. Location wise, I loved the area, I especially chose this location as it was close to the Leidesplein, which is where you will find all you need and can stroll in lots of directions from here. The vonderpark is close by and conveniently a spar shop (which is extra cheap for drinks, sandwiches) versus home (ireland). I would recommend the hotel, I would try to get a room higher next time and definitely get a deluxe room. Comfort has to be too small.

I stayed here for two nights, my room being on the fourth floor, facing away from the road. It was perfectly adequate, quiet enough for a restful night’s sleep and the bed was very comfortable. The staff at the hotel was very friendly, and the breakfast was standard. The carpets in the room need a steam clean, the windows and the bathroom a very thorough clean, and the lifts / elevators more consistent attention. On my last morning, there were lipstick stains and other marks on the windows of the lift, and detritus on the floor. Yuck. Interesting to note is that the hotel does not offer daily cleaning of rooms, but only if one were to hang the sign on the door to clean. I wonder whether attention is paid to room and hotel cleanliness on a deep level; it seems to be very much lacking, and any attempts are made cursorily. The lobby has a faint smell of sewage (I know the hotel is undergoing renovation, and this cannot be helped). It would have been helpful for the management to write something about the renovations on the website when booking, so guests know what to expect when they arrive and can make an informed decision accordingly. The breakfast area is also very dark. There are awnings over the windows that could be drawn back to allow natural light to flood on - likely it would make the space more atmospheric and inviting as well. The location of this hotel is exceptional for exploring the city. However, when I return to the city, I’ll be choosing to stay elsewhere.

We arrived at the hotel just as a guest was complaining to reception about the smell in his room. The staff told him that they could move him but he would need to vacate the room by 5am! The reception area felt crowded and a bit chaotic. We checked in and went to our room which was below street level so no privacy unless the curtains were shut. The room was tiny and also very smelly of sewage/drains. The corridor to the room was very shabby and dark. The room itself was dark and had not been cleaned properly. The street outside of the hotel was covered in rubbish and there were always people sitting on the steps smoking! When we complained about the awful smell the staff told us that they knew that the drains were blocked - maybe they should not have let rooms that smelled so awful. Overall very poor value for money in a hotel which seems to rely on its location rather than quality. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND and will not return.

A friend and I stayed in late November. Check in was smooth and quick, after arriving in our room we realized the construction going on outside was next to our window, we later asked if it was possible to change rooms and the manager went above and beyond to ensure the room was to our liking. Every morning we went downstairs and had delicious lattes before heading out to explore. Since curfews were enforced we found ourselves spending lots of time at the hotel. The staff was kind and helpful and followed all safety standards. We were also able to book our Covid tests right in the hotel to be able to fly the same day. We had a lot of problems finding a location for foreigners for same day tests, we were so relieved that they had partnered with a company that made it so easy. Again- fantastic staff I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Amsterdam!
