You are looking for a hotel in the city centre. Apollo Museumhotel is located in the heart of Amsterdam. Our hotel is located right next to the Rijksmuseum and is ideal for a city trip, or if you are attending meetings in the centre. Everything is within walking distance. World-class museums close to the hotel are the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk museum and the Heineken Experience. We are located in Pieter Cornelisz Hooftstraat where you will find the special window displays of all large international fashion houses. A feast for the eyes: glass door handles, marble floors, anything is possible in this street. For anyone wanting a good night out, Leidseplein is just 500 metres from the hotel; here you will find student bars, but also well-known clubs, such as De Melkweg and Paradiso. If you wish to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, the Vondelpark is just around the corner. This famous Amsterdam park is the place to go for culture, recreation and sports.

Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.

We enjoyed our stay here for 2 x nights in early August. It was in a great location across the road from the hop on hop bus and canal boats. A short walk to the museums, restaurants and shopping. The bed was comfortable but the air conditioner could do with an upgrade though. There was also a bar and the staff were friendly. It was my birthday when we stayed there and we returned to the room after a day out to find a lovely gift from the hotel.

The Apollo provides a great location for Amsterdam. Nothing is too far away which is very convenient. Probably the number 1 selling point of this place. Worth knowing that the hotel has steps up to enter the reception area. Couldn't see a lift or a ramp, so not accessible for everyone. Inside the hotel however there are lifts. The rooms are quite small - if you open the door to the bathroom you cannot access the rest of the room. The breakfast which is included is nice for the first few days, but a bit more variety would be nice. They would also benefit from a second coffee machine, as the queue is never ending. Great for location but not somewhere to stay if you want to be wowed.

Room was a decent size, beds extremely comfortable and air conditioning was nice, in walking distance to everything around the square, very close to the hard rock. staff was helpful when we got locked out of the room.. only downside is a frosted door to the bathroom that faced the beds

Me and my partner stayed for 2 nights. The location is excellent, everything was within a walking distance however you could get a bike or an Uber if you needed to go further. The hotel staff were friendly, the room was quite small and the shower didn’t work properly. The air conditioning was really noisy too. We would come back here as you definitely get what you pay for. The photo attached is the view from our window. I would recommend this hotel based on location and price.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is older and some areas like hallways, need a major facelift. The rooms was small but clean. We had breakfast at the buffet one morning but it’s easy to walk to cafes in the area that cost less. Overall, for three nights, it was worth it.
