I won't regret staying here! Amazing artwork, very friendly young staff. There is a club on the 7th floor overlooking the city. This hotel offers an amazing breakfast too. There is a bar at reception that also has a DJ playing on vinyl decks - this is a great social environment and the coffee is great ! I am happy... More

Second stay at the Volkshotel, it is becoming my favourite place in Amsterdam. Really good vibe, during the day the place is packed with people working in the ground floor space. Nicely decorated, the rooms are basic with an excellent bed. WiFi connection free and extremely fast. I did not try the hotel breakfast (10 Euros) and had a cappuccino... More

Great vibe, very cool retro rooms, bed was excellent, breakfast good. Free sport & yoga on different days. Lobby area is really vibrant as they encourage people to just hang out. Definitely not your "typical" hotel. Looking for something less sterile but still with better than average rooms - this is it.

19 of us went for a birthday weekend, the first night was good, we booked a special room and paid the top price, i was not impressed that the room was fairly basic, yes they are all themed in diff ways, but couldn't see the price being justified, i then went on to find that The bed had remote settings... The Volkshotel is a 1960s concrete building converted from the former offices and presses of de Volkskrant newspaper. The new owners have left the industrial feel; bedroom walls are raw concrete, and the glazing between the shower and bed is interlined with old pages from de Volkskrant. My standard single room was quite small with a double bed filling the... More

Out for a evening in Amsterdam a vriend and I stayed in a Standard room which was clean and well thought out industrial looking interior. The hotel is in itself also a destination for night life. Upstairs it has a bar/dancing with an amazing view of A'dam. On the ground floor there is a chill type of bar and in... More

This hotel is really modern, and very ideally situated. You are a few tube stops away from the main town, but the tube is literally on the doorstep of the hotel! I want to come back to Amsterdam as I loved it so much, and I will almost definitely be returning to this hotel!

I stayed here for a weekend with my daughter. I loved the chilled out feel of the hotel and the decor, much more warm and welcoming than an Ibis! (and a real decent price!) The staff were super friendly and our room was fabulous (Le Petit room) It was plenty big enough for the two of us. Sorry I forgot... More

This is a funny hotel, decorated like a motel for students (although the price is like any other good hotel). A lot of spaces to be, and good atmosphere. My room was good in a corner with great views in both sides through big windows. Missed a place to store the cloths, hanging from the wall is not good. There... More

We stayed with four people in one room. The room was great with a beautiful view of Amsterdam. Their working area/cafe is spacious and comfortable to work in, with has excellent internet and meeting facilities. The restaurant and cafe serve good healthy meals. And they turn at night into club with very Djs. and various types of music. Their staff... More
