The room was lovely and clean - bathroom clean. this place will satisfy those who rather stay out all night, party hard... More

As a person who travels all around the world, this is by far the worst hotel I have ever seen. The room the have provided to us was stinking (fried food) and it was so dirty with bugs on the floor. It was located two floors below the ground (double basement). I had to cancel my booking after seeing the... More

We stayed in Damrak as a last minute decision. The stairs is a challenge for carrying luggage because it is an older building in old town. The proximity to transportation and Central Station is great.

An absolutely terrible hotel with no redeeming features whatsoever. Was not as advertised on their website, for one. Secondly, the entire hotel smelt of damp and bad weed. And that was before I'd even checked in, worse was to follow! Despite my reservations, I was prepared to give them a try. I was wrong to do so. Barely had I... More

The hotel was conveniently located close to Amsterdam Centraal Station. Steep stairs, no elevators to carry the baggage when you initially arrive. I was given a room on the second level to accommodate the luggage that I had to take up the stairs. The linens were changed and the bathroom was not completely clean with hair on the shower floor.... Typical vertically built hotel with steep stairs. Basic, good-bang-for-the-buck and located right where you want to be between the train station, center plaza and walking distance from the red light. very charming if you're of the age to climb them but older folks will struggle getting to the fifth floor with their luggage. Service was nice and warm. Our room... More

Absolutely disgusting the place needs closing down desperately... 50% of stay refunded again disgraceful, sleeping in the same room as vermin, inches away from the bed.. Words could not condemn the place any further.. The images enclosed says it all 👀 beware of the Damrak inn avoid at... More

Stayed with a friend for 3 nights. Had to move rooms during the stay but knew this when we booked. Most staff very friendly and helpful (particularly vincent). Book direct with the hostel while staying. Its not cheaper to book with hostelbookers etc. I booked with hostelbookers and the hostel didn't get my details straight away given a block wide... More

We had the twin room, all was as described and was clean, tidy and fresh when we arrived. The on-Suite WC/Shower was ideal too. The location was very central, easy to find and within easy reach of most places you want to visit in the center and short walk to the train station or multiple tram stops if you want... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
