This was my second stay in the Damrak in. It's a short walk from the train station, Dam square and other central points. It's a hostel really and is very basic but as we were always out and spent so little time there it was perfect.

We have just returned from a stay at the Damrak Inn. On our first night we arrived and the receptionist was v friendly, we given out key to a top floor triple room, it was up quite a few steep and narrow steps, but that is to be expected in Amsterdam. The location is great, 2 mins from central station... More

Very old floors and in my mind a dirty room too. Its too expensive too though. I have paid 480€ in total for a room for 3 on december 31th (2015). It is NOT cozy. We felt so uncomfortable and ugly to be here. The floors dont like a hotel's floor. They are very old. Our closet smelled very very... More

DO NOT stay at this hostel. It is totally and completely infested with bed bugs. We laid down to go to sleep and I saw one crawl across my pillow right next to my face. I immediately sat up and got out of the bed. I woke up my friends I was sharing the room with and one of them... More

I have no complaints with the hotel itself. Traditional Amsterdam building, nice rooms with comfortable beds and a short walk from Central Station. Yes it may seem expensive for what it is but I love the location

The first day begins realizing how small is the room, having no a/c, refrigerator or any facilities you would expect from even "low budget" hotel. saying "low budget" is because it was pretty expensive, about 190 euro / night for a room with two beds. Really small room. No elevator, and the room was also at the 4th floor, with... More

There is no elevator and and my room was at 4th floor (67 steps!). The room is very basic but functional with good wifi and comfortable single bed. The price is really expensive for this quality but you are in the heart of Amsterdam and you take only 5 minutes from the central station.

I know it's IBC week and that this hotel was booked through the travel agency that serves the company I work for but it's hardly worth €400 a night (no breakfast ). The fan I'm the bathroom is left on all day long by the cleaning service to "extract" the sewage smell that linnets in the bathroom and room. And... More

Very bad first MORNING at Damrak Inn. I reserved for 3 nights in a row. The nice evening front desk attendant told me I have to move from a room to another the next morning. What is ok. What is not? Is that this hostel have no proper luggage room what should be provided when your guests can't keep a... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
