We went with my friends for christmas holidays and we stayed for 6 days in Damrak Inn Hotel, we really like our room and especially our view, also has a perfect location. The staff was friendly but not so much smiling(people needs that)! The stairs are endless but i really liked they way are. I hope to visit Amsterdam as... More

Damrak inn will be rated highly for its location but that is about it. Bed bugs - It seems like the staff gave up on properly cleaning a decade ago. Rooms are interesting shapes and sizes but that's not an issue,I don't book a hostel in Amsterdam to do anything more than have a kip. Daytime staff were friendly and... More

Nice hotel, kind staff, I loved the roof top with the hot tub and restaurant, we were two of us and the room was small but with a nice interior design, very close to the subway. I really suggest this hotel.

Don't go to that hotel!!!! The worst hotel ever! There were two mouses in our room in the trash and they were eating our chocolate . When we complianed to the manager she told us that it's because we brought food inside and she helped us by moving us into another room. The day after we found a mouse in... More

Visited with 7 other guys for a stag do, location is amazing. Room was basic but was secure with a safety deposit box per person and pretty clean too. Staff are friendly, shower was broken but was fixed the next day upon request. Value for money

As a person who travels all around the world, this is by far the worst hotel I have ever seen. The room the have provided to us was stinking (fried food) and it was so dirty with bugs on the floor. It was located two floors below the ground (double basement). I had to cancel my booking after seeing the... More

We stayed in Damrak as a last minute decision. The stairs is a challenge for carrying luggage because it is an older building in old town. The proximity to transportation and Central Station is great.

An absolutely terrible hotel with no redeeming features whatsoever. Was not as advertised on their website, for one. Secondly, the entire hotel smelt of damp and bad weed. And that was before I'd even checked in, worse was to follow! Despite my reservations, I was prepared to give them a try. I was wrong to do so. Barely had I... More

The hotel was conveniently located close to Amsterdam Centraal Station. Steep stairs, no elevators to carry the baggage when you initially arrive. I was given a room on the second level to accommodate the luggage that I had to take up the stairs. The linens were changed and the bathroom was not completely clean with hair on the shower floor.... Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
