I am not one who looks for the classiest or most spotless place to live in when I am travelling. But this has got to be the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. The management was very friendly. But that was the only nice thing about this place. The only reason I chose it is because it was the... More

I have never written a review about anything before but I felt this one warranted a mention. I stayed in this hostel and having been to many throughout Europe, South America and Asia i can say this is safely the dirtiest, dingiest most disgusting hostel on earth. In fact it was so bad, i went to use the shower on... More

Worse than a prison If you have any desire to not stay in a total dump I would not stay here. Everything about the hostel is awful and makes it the worst place I've ever been in. If I had a dog I wouldn't let it stay there. The staff are also useless and the beds are dirty

LOVE THE STAFF, Jonny and Ginger are amazing and we would love to see them again. THANK YOU JONNY & GINGER we love you both. Thanks for the stay, the hostel is awesome. Simple but so central and decent comfy beds :) I would recommend this to young travellers who want to have a good time and meet people

This hostel is so weird but if you're going to get into back packing life go here. All the staff are hilarious and even though it's not the cleanest place the vibe is awesome for doing what everyone does in Amsterdam.. We would definitely go back we met so many people and it was definitely an experience you have to... More

I have never written a review for anything on the Internet before, but I owe it to the world to warn people about this place. Do not stay here. The hostel itself looks as if it has never been cleaned. There are graffiti tags on every surface. They took two days to put new toilet paper in our bathroom. The... More

It is the worst hostel I've ever been. Very very dirty, I even think they didn't change the sheets. No organization at all: we had to sleep in 9 in a 8-bed room. No space for the breakfast, it was at the reception and we prefer not to have it because the dishes and cutlery were dirty. The only good... More

Positive: friendly staff, clean linen, no cockroaches NegatIve: dirty, mice, toilet and all the rest the worst place I ever stayed in all my life. And this includes local and native so-called hotels in all continents.

I was there with a friend and we did not book a hostel from home. So we were really happy to find one with rooms available. It was quite expensive, but we were the only 2 in an 8 bed dorm. The ensuite had no windows, so you can expect what it looked like in some places (better not touch... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
