Recently visited this wonderful hotel with my wife. The first thing you notice when you approach the Hotel is the stunning architecture of the building. It is even better when you get inside. Checkout the main staircase with the stained glass roof window. Its absolutely breathtaking. A few small issues checking in. The room was not ready at the stated...

Walking up to the hotel is quite an experience. you walk round a corner and suddenly you are met with this huge structure with what looks like castle turrets on top, very impressive. You walk up the red carpeted steps and are greeted by an impeccably dressed doorman and soon you are whizzed through the revolving doors into the hotel....

This was my second time staying here - last time with my fiancée this time with friends. The hotel is nice, the staff are friendly. We had 2 rooms, one twin and one king. The rooms are spacious, good size bathroom. The mini bar is free which is great - most hotels charge ridiculous fees for mini bars! Very well...

This hotel lives up to it's 5 star rating. The concierge was very helpful and recommended the resturant Greetjie when I asked for traditional Dutch food. It room was small and chic, mini bar was very well stocked. Bring a replaceable bottle cap so you can save your drinks. All drinks including water are in glass bottles that require bottle...

Can't even begin to describe the incredible week we had at the Amrath. The room and the spa were amazing. Free minibar and Nespresso make you feel more than welcome. We are definitely considering going back - many times, if possible.

Amrath Hotel-- If you're up for a splurge, this is the right place for it. I tend to prefer inns or boutique hotels to "luxury" but this place manages to be both charming and non-generic in style and substance. The building itself is lovely art nevaux style and the staff are very helpful and gracious (though not really warm). I...

The pool and spa provided excellent way to relax after a day of sight seeing, The museums and art galleries were exceptional - the breakfast at the Rijksmuseum was a super starter to a fabulous exhibition space. We booked into this 5 star ( ? ) hotel several weeks before our stay, so expected a good room. Our room looked nothing like the one advertised on the website, and we overlooked a crane and a building site from our window. The wardrobe was no more than 2 foot wide, and there were only 2 drawers. It was...

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
