I visited Helsink for an academic conference and had to stay here because by the time I booked, the most affordable options had already been taken. For an expensive city this is a well organised hostel that is clean with functional facilities. After reading some of the more negative reviews on here, I was on the point of paying the... More

Staying over a weekend we paid an average of £30 per person per night - expensive for a private room of 6 for what it was, but the cheapest we could find for the location we wanted. The location is good, 5 minutes from the Van Gogh museum and the IAmsterdam sign which leads you into the centre of the... More

We weren't expecting much after reading the reviews and we didn't get much. It is in a good location and lovely neighborhood. Close to the tram stops and museums. The bed was very uncomfortable and the room unbelievably small. Lots of noise hearing people come and go from their rooms. But the linen was clean and we got new towels... More

After reading recent reviews online we are dissapointed when we arrived and didn't have a room which smelt of bum as this was one of the main selling points, we were pleased however that we had the mold, stained walls, dust and general dirt mentioned in earlier reviews. The room was probably smaller than your average double sized hotel room... More

Spent there three nights in a six bed room. This is not just a cheap and austere hotel, rooms are dirty (seriously, possible explanations for some stains in the ceilings was a recurrent topic of our discussions) and very badly maintained. And, yes... That elevator... Definitely not the safest one I have ever seen!! After seen the room and the... More

I felt the location was good for me right next to van gogh museum and rijks museum easy for the tram to and from central station and into the center square where most tours go from. So sray close to this location just not this accomandation. Unfortunately for me I had a very unpleasant stay here the staff was friendly... More

As much as I would like to have something positive to say about our short time with Inner, the facts are that: a) after the first night (which was also the first night of our holiday after flying in from Australia) I received a large amount of bed bug bites; and b) we asked to change rooms which the hotel... This hotel is awful. The rooms are tiny even though we paid over €800 for a 6 person room for 4 nights. The showers smell. The rooms are dirty. There is even a cat which is there to catch the mice as the hotel has a mice problem. There isn't even wifi in the rooms even though it is so... More

Disappointing when you're paying €80 a night, but to be fair we knew this was a hostel. We were disappointed at the lack of space, horrendously thin walls & construction work going on. The location was fantastic, just a short stroll from the Van Gogh museum & on a quiet street. The staff seemed friendly too. But sadly the bed... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
