A group of us stayed here for 3 nights in May 2007. We were looking for a budget hotel, and Amsterdam turned out to be quite a pricey city. From research I came across the Freeland Hotel which seemed to have good reviews, so booked it. For the price, it was good value. Its not a posh modern hotel, but... More

To make a long story short...... I was in disterss because I was looking for a hotel after having a really bad experience at another hotel, thats when I stumbled upon The Freealand. I rang the doorbell and a bery polite man answered and let me see the room that was available. It was very cute it had a sun... More

I had a week or so's holiday due to me from the part time job which I do in our local supermarket in June 2007(my Easyjet money as I call it!), and as I had never been to Amsterdam before, I considered that the city would be a interesting place to visit for a short break. Upon researching the internet... More

Booked this hotel for a friend and myself, when we turned up we had been allocated a double bed rather than a twin bed. The hotel was full so the owner arranged for us to stay in the building next door, this appeared to be a private residence, it was perfectly adequate and we appreciated the effort. Breakfast was the... More

We had a fantastic three day break at the Freeland Hotel. We shared a twin bedded room on the 2nd floor with a balcony complete with flag! Stairs, although plentiful, were not a problem and we accepted them as a true characteristic of Dutch houses. Owners and Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and had a terrific sense of humour. The... More

We have just returned from a 3 night break staying at this hotel. There was 4 of us all together(2 sets of couples). We have stayed at other hotels in Amsterdam, but this is what we thought of this: The hotel is great value for money, location is excellent, with the majority of places being within walking distance (museums, dam... This hotel is typical very tall and narrow dutch building which was being painted when we were staying. We had one of thr triple rooms on the top floor (58 steps) and stayed for 3 nights. It was ok - but the bathroom was very disappointing with a Greek style curtain separating the toilet and shower - with very little... More

Stayed here last fall after seeing reviews online. We were very excited to give it a try after emails with the owners. It was the worst hotel we have stayed at in Amsterdam! The room was shabby and not well-tended. One day, we left early for a day trip and returned home to find the room not made up and... More

I REALLY and genuinely ask myself if this guest stayed in my hotel... Perhaps he was there before we took over the hotel a year and a half ago but this is NOT the service we normally provide! Guests are always number 1 !! Rick Hotel Freeland More
