This hotel is ideal for fools like us who realised the nearby hostel is unbearably awful and decided to look elsewhere. The hotel is in a great location but even still it does not justify the expense. The rooms are as basic as human rights laws allow. You get more living space in a Turkish prison cell yet pay ridiculous...

We stumbled upon this place on a short break in Amsterdam, rooms very basic and not the cleanest but at €100 a night this was a lot cheaper than elsewhere, staff were very rude and not friendly but we didnt let that bother us! Overall it's ok if your stuck for somewhere to stay otherwise be prepared!

We wandered in there looking for a room - we had heard that they had always loose rooms, and we got one. We were really disappointed when we saw our room. Our beds were bunk beds with stains in the sheet. We could see handprints on the walls. Our sink was dirty. You share shower and bathroom with the other...

We just left the hotel. We got there yesterday at 2am and the guy was really nice. The room was just ok, but breakfast was nice. The guy at night told us we could leave our luggage there after the check in. When we checked out, the guy of the morning wanted to charge us for leaving our bags! We...

stayed here in october 2012 it is nothing more than a cell. metal bunkbeds with a sink in the room you have to share showers with other rooms and the showers are disgusting. 120 euro a night. on several occasions we came back to find the owners snooping about our room. avoid at all costs you would be safer and...

To sleep in a place like that is enough 20 euro for a double room not 100 as we pay.Room not clean,we had an ashtray still dirty, they just dropped out the content without wash it.Anyway for a really short term is ok(max 3 night, not more).Position very good but very...

we arrived in amsterdam late about 815pm, without a hotel booked. We wandered down the main 'drag' for hotels and came upon Hotel Jimmy. I have no idea where the low prices came from but at the door they asked for 180.00 euros with/shower and 210.00 for ensuite. The double room was pitiful and stank. the stairs were impossible to...

We made a clear verbal agreement on the price, agreed to pay half in the next day after we get a chance to withdraw the money. Employees appear in the morning, harassing and yelling at us to pay a higher price. The boss hid himself from the conversation, using the employee as a proxy. I recommend staying away.

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
