Amsterdam is one of those cities which can get really touristy. Because my first visit was in a big hotel on one of the squares, the second time I was in Amsterdam I wanted to be away from the crowd and close to local way of living as much possible. The Times Hotel provided just what I was looking for.... More

I picked this hotel for its location and because it was also overlooking the Herengracht canal. The hotel is tucked inside a typical Merchant's style Dutch house which frames these canals. You can live in a millionaires location for a few days while staying in this hotel because mere mortals would never be able to afford the prices these buildings... More

Easy to book. We booked same day. Friendly staff and very helpful. The bathroom wasn't a real door so that was a negative. The bathtub was not spectacular but good. But overall comfortable and not expensive. The location couldn't be better.

Very central location. Small rooms with no closing door (just flaps like an old western saloon) which wasn't ideal, especially when traveling with a friend. Had to go downstairs for number twos. Next to great cafe, Amnesia. Very helpful staff.

My daughter and I were staying in Amsterdam for a week after finishing the Camino de Santiago and were staying in a nice apartment but had to vacate because it was booked the next few days. I saw The Timex Hotel in the online listing and decided to look at it before booking it. From the moment I saw the... More

We stayed in one of the downstairs rooms. There wasn't a double bed just two singles pushed together which was a shame. I imagine the higher rooms get better though. This was fine as we were on a budget and knew we didn't book the Hilton. Staff were friendly on check in.

Stayed here for 1 night with my partner. On arrival we had our room upgraded to the top floor with a canal view. Room was clean and tidy. We didn't spend much time in the room as we only stayed 1 night and we went out as soon as we arrived. We didn't take the breakfast either as check out... More

On arrival we were advised that the cost of the hotel had gone up and despite having an email confirmation stating the cost would be 1,107 Euros we were charged 1,217 Euro's..... `At first I refused to pay the extra but after looking online quickly with friends it... This is a top notch little hotel at a perfect location for visiting the city, on a relatively quiet street. The hotel is neat as a pin. We had a fourth floor canal side room and loved it. Very helpful staff and a good ,rather standard breakfast. We were able to walk to many good restaurants and most sites

The location can't get better. In the Middle if Jordaan, the best area in Amsterdam, this old hotel is situated. If you're lucky to get a room with Canal view the view is indeed amazing. The hotel itself is modernised with an ok look, not more. Small rooms but this is Amsterdam. Breakfast is served in the reception area, quite... More
