I booked a room at truelove over new years because it was recommended by Rick Steves. Generally I like his recommendations, but I was disappointed in this place. The owners have apartments all over Amsterdam, so you have no way of knowing the location and...More
Our room was located in the Jordaan area a few blocks from the Anne Frank House. All in all a GREAT location. However the SMALL room was marginal. Supposedly it came with a refrigerator but that turned out to be a very small (1 cubic...More
I'm 22 and this was the first trip that I planned for myself out of the country. TrueLove was the perfect choice for many reasons. It's cheaper than a hotel, more than a hostel. If you're willing to spend a little more than hostel prices,...More
We ended up in the 2 story flat about a 5 minute walk from the store. The place had incredible character and was very large, especially for Amsterdam. Location terrific with big picture windows overlooking canal and street. Only warning is to people who have...More

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws
include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.

I emailed the guest house after booking to ask what room I was allocated, then I searched for that address on Google Maps. We went in September 2014 and we were booked in "Herengracht 57" which had a great central location, just a 2 minute walk from Dam Square. The room itself was brilliant for myself and partner (both 27), it wasn't huge but accommodated our needs perfectly (room included nice double bed, tv, fridge, small dining table/chairs, free wifi, space to keep your belongings... and also had private bathroom). We were basically staying in our own little apartment and felt like locals! There wasn't a reception desk with room service but we didn't need any of that (the guest house owners are just a phone call away but we had no need to ring them). Next time we go we'll be asking to stay in Herengracht 57 again! Enjoy your holiday :-)
