We loved the basement room in Herrengracht (main office in Princinstraat) and for 65 Euros a night, very pleased to have a fridge, no stairs, a large room, comfortable bed and very quiet surroundings. The toilet and shower recess are in a hallway just outside the door, but to our knowledge, only used by us. The room is beautifully decorated...

Hi everyone, I stayed at the Truelove guesthouse on two separate occasions. The first time was during the summer and the second was during the winter. Amsterdam is a wonderful place full of great people. Do not let my review sour you on this wonderful place. The sights, attractions, food, and wonderful people make Amsterdam the spectacular place that it...

without a doubt advance booking hotels in Amsterdam is expensive. Nothing is perfect, trade off's are made, etc. We went with Truelove based on guidebook recommendations and price. The room was indeed near the Anne Frank house as quoted. However we were not warned that there was major construction right outside the building each morning, pounding pile drivers. OK so...

Following the advice given, I walked, dragging my suitcase with me the 7 minutes' supposed walk to The Truelove HoteI in Prinsenstraat . After 20 minutes' I arrived at an empty shop which I was told had 1 room up above. I paid my 312 euros' for 3 nights' stay and was then led streets' away dragging my case again...

I booked a room at truelove over new years because it was recommended by Rick Steves. Generally I like his recommendations, but I was disappointed in this place. The owners have apartments all over Amsterdam, so you have no way of knowing the location and picking in advance. Our room was close to the train station (we would have preferred...

Our room was located in the Jordaan area a few blocks from the Anne Frank House. All in all a GREAT location. However the SMALL room was marginal. Supposedly it came with a refrigerator but that turned out to be a very small (1 cubic foot?) refrigerator that was red and had a 'Coca Cola' label on it. All in...

I'm 22 and this was the first trip that I planned for myself out of the country. TrueLove was the perfect choice for many reasons. It's cheaper than a hotel, more than a hostel. If you're willing to spend a little more than hostel prices, it is so very much worth the comfort and security. The room service was minimal,...

We ended up in the 2 story flat about a 5 minute walk from the store. The place had incredible character and was very large, especially for Amsterdam. Location terrific with big picture windows overlooking canal and street. Only warning is to people who have trouble navigating steps, they are very steep and narrow as is customary in Amsterdam. We...

Stupid manager, broken window (impossible to close. The manager knew it and he didnt tell us) and the big surprise: mice in the room. The worst place in Amsterdam.

For the price you can't beat the location of the below-street-level apartment we rented from TrueLove. Very charming and clean.
