My boyfriend and I stayed here with a couple of friends for a long weekend in mid-October for the Amsterdam marathon. We were slightly concerned after reading the reviews on here, but had a very pleasant stay after all. As long as other vistors are...More
The room is quite small even for one person and the bathroom/shower would be more adequate for a dolls house than for human dimensions. But this is not the worst: No room cleaning service at all, the towels are bad, old, small and scarce (one...More
My boyfriend and I were very uneasy about this place after reading other reviews. Luckily our experience was great. The person we met at the Antique Shop was very friendly and he led us to a beautiful, clean apartment on a quiet street (Bloemgracht) close...More
I have booked it first and only then read a lot of negative reviews here, on Tripadvisor. Even considered cancelling it, but then decided - how bad really can one hostel be for a weekend stay? Well, it was just perfect and I would definitely...More

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws
include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.

I emailed the guest house after booking to ask what room I was allocated, then I searched for that address on Google Maps. We went in September 2014 and we were booked in "Herengracht 57" which had a great central location, just a 2 minute walk from Dam Square. The room itself was brilliant for myself and partner (both 27), it wasn't huge but accommodated our needs perfectly (room included nice double bed, tv, fridge, small dining table/chairs, free wifi, space to keep your belongings... and also had private bathroom). We were basically staying in our own little apartment and felt like locals! There wasn't a reception desk with room service but we didn't need any of that (the guest house owners are just a phone call away but we had no need to ring them). Next time we go we'll be asking to stay in Herengracht 57 again! Enjoy your holiday :-)
