We stayed in Sarphatihotel Amsterdam, we had a fantastic stay; a large family room, plenty of space, every day when we came back to the hotel the room was clean and tidy with clean towels. Very helpful staff. Breakfast was delicious; the children loved it! Free coffee, tea and fresh fruit all day. Free wireless internet! Location was great; all... More

The Hotel is very quiet, the rooms are very clean, the location is good, and It's not far from the center town, the breakfast is amazing and the food is delicious, the hotel have wi-fi internet, and the external appearance... My partner and I stayed here for a short romantic break in June. We are in our early-mid twenties and wanted somewhere close enough to walk to the main city attractions but also somewhere not so in the middle of it all, and for this the location is great. We were greeted by a gentleman who I think was the... More

The hotel is not bad. Very small, not far from the city center and easily accessible by trams. Friendly staff, good breakfast. Also you may enjoy coffee, tea and other drinks as well as fruit during the day. WiFi Internet access free of charge. The minus of the hotel is the size of the room: I haven't seen anything smaller... More

Stayed in this Hotel for 2 nights . The location is not centre but reachable by trams, the journey from central station is about 15-20 minutes . i'd booked for a single and i found a very small room next to the reception with a separate bathroom. This is a lovely hotel located a short 15 minute tram ride from the centre (no.25) and was easy to find as the tram stops right outside it! The hotel itself is immaculately clean; the rooms are large with comfortable beds and a good bathroom. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of breads, meats, cheese, muffins, cereal and fresh... We booked this hotel for Queens day because everything else was already full which says a lot. The receptionist was not particularly friendly just fairly nonchalent. We wee give a room on the top floor. Unfortunately the hotel has no lift and samll stairs so it is a struggle. The room was awful, vey dated and unwelcoming but worst of... More

I have just returned from Amsterdam with my 9-year-old grandson. I booked 2 nights at the Sarphati Hotel after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. On the first day we arrrived at the hotel early and asked if we could leave our cases. We then went to the zoo and arrived back at the hotel late afternoon. When they went to... More

It could be OK unless they gave us for the 1st night a single room ( the smallest I've ever seen ) instead of a double that we booked and charged us the same price. One month later they charged me with 100 Euro extra cost without any explanations. Unfortunately I realised it too late to have the money back... More

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
