We are Dutch ourselves and you don't tend to visit your own cities as a tourist but Covid changes things so we celebrated our anniversary in Amsterdam with a nice dinner at Spectrum and a night at the Waldorf. We were welcomed by Juan who explained all Covid policies and showed our upgraded room (we are Hilton Gold Honors member), it was an amazing room with a great view on the canal. We appreciated the spa with great steam room and sauna. We didn’t use the gym as we did a 10K run in the morning though the Amsterdam parks but it look nice. We received Due to Covid we enjoyed our breakfast in the room and it was excellent, the latte was hot and the juices fresh. The Rijksmuseum is a 10 minute walk, we spend 2.5 hours there and walked back to the hotel to enjoy some lunch. So all in all we loved the Waldorf Estoria especially with the diner we had at Spectrum, we will come back!

Hotel's Favorite
Stayed here again during “Corona” and they’re taking every precaution to prevent transmission of this dreaded virus. Rooms are exactly what you’d expect them to be in this category of hotel. We stayed in connecting rooms, second floor, canal view. Spacious and well appointed to 5 star standards. The double windows are sound proof so a peaceful silence inside the rooms. No “improvement needed” to detect whatsoever. The thing I noticed was how extremely clean and dust-free the rooms (and the rest of the hotel) were. Spotless. Complements to the housekeeping team. Every day we opted to have the (sumptuous) breakfast inside our rooms. Loved the Eggs Oriental. Exactly how they should be cooked. Roomservice was swift and flawless again. Staff is friendly. Loved the subtle lingering scent of the Cire Trudon candles inside the hotel. (Cyrnos is my personal favorite). Do arrange a private “Classic Boat Dinner” tour with them and opt for a memorable evening diner cruise in one of the small antique vessels (“De Muze” was lovely). They’ll stop at various places along the way and pick up food at the best restaurants. Absolutely thé number 1 hotel in Amsterdam on the list of 5 star category hotels. Totally comparable to the best 5 star hotels in other (larger) cities around the world. A friendly, unique, fresh, light, service-minded, luxurious 5 star hotel experience. I’ll be back. Thank you.

My wife and I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam the first week of November. I recommend calling the Hotel to talk with them directly to get the latest COVID guidance and Room Options. We had a very nice room over looking the canal. COVID check-in procedures were the best we have seen... we have stayed in 7 Hotels during the pandemic. In any organization the employees reflect the attitude and character of the upper management, and the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam was no exception. I could tell by speaking with the Hotel Leadership Team at the Hotel that they loved their job. This same attitude and passion was reflected in every employee we came in contact with at the Waldorf Astoria. It was apparent that the goal of every staff member was to help us enjoy our stay at the Hotel and in Amsterdam. They not only met this goal but well exceeded it… to which we are thankful. The little touches made the difference: I mentioned to the concierge that my wife and I enjoyed the music in the restaurant and how it would be nice if we could get that music in the room. Shortly after getting back to our room, the concierge called and said if we liked she could have a music streaming device brought up to our room that played similar music of the Peacock Alley restaurant. The individual that set up the device in our room was very helpful. Throughout the week we indulged ourselves at the Serene Guerlain Spa. Our Beauty Therapists were extremely bright and attentive, very knowledgeable in many aspects of their career. For example, a therapist took time to show my wife what she learned during her reflexology courses and it helped my wife immensely! Every meal we had at the Peacock Alley was an absolute delight. We felt like every need/wish was attended to. The staff was exceptional and they made our stay all the more memorable. Spectrum Restaurant: A Culinary Masterpiece! My wife has special dietary restrictions and we appreciated how the Restaurant Manager and his team of divine food-artists took on the challenge with much success! The whole experience was delectable and fit for Royalty…which is how they made us feel. Spectrum is a 'most' if you are staying at the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam... or even if you are staying in Amsterdam for just one night. Our friends told us not to go to Amsterdam because there were too many Covid cases, however, as one of the Hotel's YouTube videos said... “Stop dreaming…wake up with us and Go Crazy!”

Best service we have ever enjoyed in a hotel! The hotel itself is stunning, the location is great...and the service impeccable. The attention to detail is incredible, from handwritten notes to gifts in the room. Even our dog was made to feel welcome.

Given that we would normally travel abroad during the school holidays we decided to stay close to home this time given the COVID situation. Absolutely amazing service with staff going above and beyond. This is a truly world class hotel which is in the same league as the French palace hotels. It simply blows every other Amsterdam hotel out of the water. Stayed with young family and loved the great pool and spa. Also take a walk through the huge inner garden. COVID measures were very well implemented and in a luxurious fashion and did not take away from the experience at all.
