I loved my stay here at this apartment. My family stayed here for four nights, with two adults and four teenagers. The three things I loved the most about the apartment were; feeling like I was at home in a safe quiet neighborhood, sitting in the backyard with a good book while listening to someone playing the piano, and last...

We stayed in the Van Gogh suites for three nights and it was very nice, clean and comfortable beds lots of space. All mod cons even a dish washer. Only one gripe it is down as two bathrooms but as well as a family bathroom it has a toilet only accessible through one bedroom and a shower room only accessible...

We stayed at Van Gough Suits for the muslim holiday of Eid. The suites was not too spacious but were super modern with a washer, dishwasher and fridge. The trams were fairly cheap and we were close to a store. There was also a zoo nearby and the host was super nice.

My wife and I stayed in the apartment for 6 weeks and have 4 groups of friends visit us during that time. Richard the owner was excellent to deal with and took care or everything we needed before and during our visit, he could not have been more helpful. Everything we were promised and expected was delivered and then some!...

We stayed a week in suite IV. I liked almost everything about the apartment, the neighborhood is a little worn but that adds to the charm, tram to town is a 5 min walk. Good restaurants close by. Very ckean apt, the downside is it is a downstairs apt. If someone is staying above you it is very annoying. The...

Location despite its seeming distance is rather close to the city center. It takes about 7 minutes to get from apartment to Skinny Bridge or Opera. Shops are located in the same proximity: Albert Heim on Saphati Street - first choice - and Spar on New Church Street - if you happen on that side. Next - 1 minute walk...

Review of the ground floor apartment (Van Gogh Suites) at 103 Plantage Muidergracht. I spent two weeks here in September 2014. The apartment is clean bright and well furnished. The bedrooms are small, I wouldn't recommend this for more than 3-4 people. Very nice for two. The kitchen and bathroom are both very good. Good clothes washer, no drier, but...

We just got back from a stay at Van Gogh suites II in Amsterdam. The stay could not have been more perfect. The apartment sleeps seven comfortably, and another stray person could sleep on the couch if necessary. There is a small bedroom right off the kitchen, a balcony right off the kitchen, and large living room with a three...

We stayed in Van Gogh Suite V 2e Lieliedwarrstraat in April/May. The location was absolutely perfect. The unit was well stocked and has a fantastic layout. I would definitely recommend this to place to anyone. The street was nice and quiet, yet close to everything we wanted to do. The only thing that I would suggest to the owner is...

Over 11 months before visiting Amsterdam, we rented Van Gosh Suites #1 for 5/14-5/19/2014. The owner contacted me the week before our arrival, asking if I would switch apartments because there were some older people who didn't think they could navigate the stairs of Van Gogh Suites #5, which they'd rented from this owner. I said 'absolutely not'. First of...

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighborhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
