I visited Amsterdam for a short holiday, with my cousin and we stayed at the Lloyd Hotel in a 2 star room for 3 nights (midweek). Our twin room was on the 6th floor (Room 606). It had a solitary but decent sized window overlooking the waterfront with nice views. It wasn't overly quiet nor was it too noisy. Just... More

Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to write this review about your stay with us. I am happy to hear your experience was overall positive. It can get quite warm on the top floor during hot days but as you mentioned those hot days are not the standard summer days in the Netherlands. We do have fans available... More

This hotel is very unique. It's decor is very quirky throughout. All of the rooms are different and it is one of a kind with offering a variation of star ratings. Given the magic of Amsterdam we did not plan on using the room much so went for a lower star rating, but the room was more than satisfactory and... More

My friend and I booked this hotel because of the quirky look and of course were not disappointed on arrival. We couldn't check in before 3 but the staff were happy to store our bags so we could go out and explore. We had read the comments and advice of others before going and requested a private bathroom. However, when... More

Definitely quirky and steeped in history. It has an institution feel to it, along with lots of the old furniture and artefacts. I wouldn't judge the star rating of rooms in the usual way. But read the hotel information and all will be clear. Big on space but lacking in storage etc. We asked for a dock view (4 star)... More

First, this is in a great location if you want to get a bit out of the downtown Amsterdam area. It's an easy tram ride (a few minutes) west of downtown. The walk from the tram stop is only a few minutes. Second, very friendly. Key word: very. Third, we only saw one room during our three night stay. The... More

we booked the cheapest room and at first it was a bit jarring because there is so much history left in the rooms but as we walked around the property and learnt about the building.. the room and the floor we were in became a living history. I like the Lloyd Hotel. I like the Eastern Dock area in which the hotel is located, I like the design, I like the free tea and coffee, the free wifi, the helpful staff, it's ethos and the quirky features but I also like a good night's sleep and therein lies the problem. The main thing about a hotel is... More

Very quirky hotel. 5 minutes away from the centre of amsterdam by tram or about 20 minutes walk which you can access from the back of the hotel. A unique Hotel with a lot of history at reasonable price. Great design. I had the shower in the middle of the room. Very good experience. Be careful which kind of room your reserve because some room has no shower (shared with others). Marco
