I stayed in boogaard's for 3 nights , and it was one of my best bnb experiences ever. It is centrally located, and 3 mins walk to Dam square. You can basically walk to most of the major attractions by foot. Or, there is a bike rental shop nearby. The room was tidy , and there is housekeeping service everyday.... More

We had a wonderful time staying in the heart of the city. Peter and staff where great hosts. Our room was clean, ready and affordable with our own private bath. We would definitely stay here again. All rooms were up at least one flight of stairs. Our breakfast was the only drawback. It was a cold selection of cereals, bread,... More

Thank you for your review, back connection is very important for us, because we always try to be better for our guests. Right now, we already changed few things in our breakfast. We added meat and fresh bread, also we provide new different meal everyday (different fruits, meat, pies etc.) Unfortunately, we couldn't offer full hot breakfast, because the special... More

Our family (3 couples) had a great stay at Boogaard's for 5 nights. The location was ideal for us as we used the Amsterdam Central Station a lot. We were able to walk to all the attractions near Dam Square. We really appreciated the free laundry service. Peter was very friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions. At the end of... More

We have a wonderful experience here. We have all the information we need right after we have arrived. This help us alot with our trip planning. Everyday after our visit in the city, we have our well organised bed and room with some homemade dessert. We got what we need as a traveler and we got what we missed, a... More

I thoroughly enjoyed 4 nights staying here. Peter was very welcoming and supplied a map and suggestions. A lovely room, comfy bed and situated in a quiet narrow street. There is a steep narrow staircase to the rooms which could be an issue for some people. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend, so much enjoyable than a hotel.

The location is great. Walk or tram to everything .The host gave us two souvenir key chains, umbrellas, tote bags, pens, little Dutch shoes, great advice. Sadly he is retiring for health reasons and sold the B&B to a young Russian couple. Hopeful they will carry on the great tradition and customer service. Best wishes to Mr.Boogaard

We absolutely loved our stay at Boogaard's B&B! The location is fabulous - close enough to areas of interest but not too noisy at night. The beds are heavenly, and the linens smell so wonderful. We loved the small kitchen area which was stocked with goodies and drinks every day. Peter could not be nicer - very personable and willing... More

Could not have asked for a more perfect stay. Most of all,Peter our host extended himself far beyond the norm. The location was ideal-everything from restaurants, shopping and transport immediately accessible.. Peter provides a list of his favorite restaurants plus a GPS app. All of the recommendations were outstanding. I suggest following his advice. We felt remarkably welcomed.

The rooms are lovely. Well appointed in every detail including a spa bath and luxurious bed and linens. There is also a small stocked refrigerator and large TV. Peter is very helpful and welcoming. I highly recommend Boogard's in every respect.

Quite outstanding, our host Peter made our stay so much more enjoyable. Great food and drink just a short walk away, take Peters advice, he really knows his stuff. Staying at centrally located Boogaards was much more enriching than a hotel, you will not be disappointed!

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
