LOCATION:.. very good among a lot other similar hotels and apartments, not unique but convenient. VALUE: over value by 20-30% NEGATIVES: new owner. Rather dirty. Coffee stains, half eaten food in fridge, mouldy marks on wall behind curtains and furniture, very small room, very steep stairs, photos taken work wide angle lens. POSITIVES: live in tenant downstairs is a nice young man. Position is convenient for 4 nights visits ( but so as many near by)... VERDIT: not value for money, 25% over priced. I would choose somewhere to stay next time.

It was a nice and cozy place to stay in Amsterdam... we went there for 5 days - 4 nights and it was near to everywhere ... We didn't meet the owner but whatever we have asked he answered the phone immediately .... If I have something negative it was that under the bed and the sofa, were a lot of dust but this minor... I can recommended to everyone FOR SURE!!!! (5 days trip)

A good location, and a large room, except that there was nothing in the room or outside the room. Coffee was over and there was no one to complete it. The garbage in the room do not know where to empty it. There were many narrow steps to go into the room. You hear noises in Building outside the building.I do not recommend it

Boogaard's B&B was a fantastic discovery in the middle of Amsterdam city center. The room is quite large with comfortable bed and has modern private bathroom with shower. Very good organisation, with check-in and check-out (also luggages deposit). I suggest this place, especially for couples!

I thought very thoroughly about this rating before posting. Some things were done very well but others weren’t. My hope is future advertising, communications, and customer service will make a great experience for future guests. The main issue is breakfast was promised, but not provided. We chose a Bed and Breakfast hotel because we wanted that experience (meet other guests at breakfast and enjoy it onsite assuming it was included in the price). Our Booking.com reservation stated “Please note that everyday from 8.30 until 10.00 from March to October you can enjoy your breakfast and socialize with other guests in the property's kitchen at the ground floor. Please inform Boogaards Bed and Breakfast of your expected arrival time in advance.” We were were presented with a laminated card in our room stating the time and location for breakfast. And, the name of the hotel is shown to us as Boogaards Bed and Breakfast. So, with all of those communications, wouldn’t you find it reasonable we expected breakfast? The new owner stated we didn’t purchase a meal plan and of course we didn’t ... we planned to pay for our lunch and dinners on our own while exploring the city. In fact there is no option to select or deselect any meal plan. The truth is, the previous owner provided breakfast and the new one didn’t and the ownership changed after we initially booked. Like a previous commenter, or reservation made in February was cancelled and apparently this was the fault of the booking service however as a customer I can not validate any of that, and bottom line a few weeks before our departure date in July we were faced with rebooking or restart our whole hotel search. If we wanted to stay at Boogaards which we chose for the location and breakfast in the price, we were forced to rebook. So we did. The new management explained their perspective and it did not match ours. We were encouraged to follow-up with Booking.com who assigned someone to work with us but didn’t complete the job. As a result we are disputing the charge with the credit card service. If I were operating a Bed and Breakfast and I had guests that received written communication about when and where breakfast was served, I would not deny them breakfast by blaming a lack of a “meal plan.” Instead, I would provide them breakfast as promised — either on site or pay for their breakfast at a hotel nearby. I would not quibble with them. I would however fix the problems—change the description and content being sent, I would change the name of the hotel, and I would ensure any placards or laminated cards promising breakfast were removed from the room. Next for positives...excellent location, clean room, I enjoyed the steep stairway, the features of the room were ok. Things to be better to make this a 5-Star rating (besides the breakfast issue) would be to stock the frig as promised (covered in previous reviews), care for plants on the patio/balcony for a room that has one or else remove dead items, and work on insulating doors so inconsiderately loud guests arriving late don’t wake people sleeping. The manager at the time was Christian and seemed reasonable in person. We know it is hard to take over a new property. I think this property has a bright future if these items are fixed.…

The room is large and light. It has some old fittings (some things were a little unkept unclean or disconnected) but more specially:It had no minibar, no breakfast, no room service, no cleaning in the 4 days we spent. Considering the prize this is not acceptable, for we almost paid 400€/night.Location is very good but keep in mind the room has a very thin door and you perfectly hear the other guests coming in and out, and they can wake you in the night.

Rooms were lovely and clean and very comfortable. Location was amazing. Would have been good if we knew that we wouldn’t be getting breakfast, especially for the price we paid. Had to go out in the morning and find somewhere to eat which was a hassle. Would stay here again though as it was very quiet and in a great area

Boogaards’s cancelled our fully paid reservation 3 weeks before our trip without adequate explanation. We were forced to find comparable accommodations in the middle of busy tourist season. We would never book with them again.

I will never book an air b n b based on this experience. We stayed 7nights. 1 day no breakfast. But other day's their was a lovely fellow cooking eggs etc. After 5 days I had To ask for bed to be changed and fresh towels. The kitchenette had no coffee etc. But did have ample supply at breakfast. We were woken up on 2days at 6.30am by other guests trying to enter property. On communicating with them it was apparent they were not left codes to enter building. As host is not on property this was an annoying situation. The pug room was comfortable. But their is room for improvement. Based on previous comments .im not sure why we had these problems. One of the fellows was lovely and helpful

We booked a five night stay in July 2018. Positive points • Good location • Reasonably comfortable bed • Good sized room. • Good information about check in. Negative points We believe that there was considerable false/misleading advertising for the following reasons:. • A Bed and Breakfast place usually means just that, however after I had booked and paid (within 5 minutes of receiving the confirmation) I noticed that breakfast was not included and tried to cancel but it was just too hard and too late as we were leaving home the next day. We were stuck with a Bed and Breakfast with no breakfast – surely that is just a bed? • The confirmation tells us, “Please note that everyday from 8.30 until 10.00 from March to October you can enjoy your breakfast and socialize with other guests in the property's kitchen at the ground floor.” Not only no breakfast but there was no kitchen or dining room on the ground floor, only a room with Private on the door. The kitchen had disappeared. • The website says under Most Popular Facilities, “Daily maid service.” Our room was not touched in 5 days – no clean sheets or towels, no bed made, nothing. Hardly daily maid service. Extremely poor situation. • The website says, “Guests also benefit from a complimentary mini bar stocked with soft drinks in their room, tea and coffee. Boogaards Bed and Breakfast offers a continental or buffet breakfast.” There was no minibar stocked with free soft drinks. There were a few coffee sachets and some tea bags and some very old looking sugar cubes in an open bowl. No wine glasses either. • The website says, “The rooms will provide guests with a fridge.” Yes there was an empty fridge, but it was outside the room and was to be shared by the other room on the same floor. We used it for food and drink storage but had cheese disappear from it. Apparently the breakfast (if you get any) is left there for you. • The website also says “Each room is fitted with a private bathroom with free toiletries and a hair dryer”. Yes, private bathroom. Yes, hairdryer. Free toiletries – no. There was one small tube of shower gel for 2 people for 5 days (lasted one shower each) and some hand wash on the basin. No shampoo, conditioner or soap or anything else. • The Digital Concierge app we were told about was not available on the Apple app store only on Google. No good for an iPad. Also it was said that, “the Digital Concierge app was not about replacing personal contact with guests”. We had no personal contact with anyone other than the lovely woman whom we saw once cleaning the room next door. A couple of other problems we experienced were: • We tried to access the roof terrace but were unable to open the clear hatch to get up there. • On our last night there we were woken up by noisy guests arriving at midnight. Firstly there was loud knocking on the front door which woke us. Then, outside our room they were speaking loudly on their phone to the owner who was telling them their room was on the second floor. Yes, we could hear what was said – must have been on speaker. Then they bumped and crashed around in the room above ours until well after 1:00am. Reading many other reviews we are wondering if they reviewed the same place. We had a very different experience, except perhaps the most recent review in July 2018. We would absolutely NOT recommend this bed and breakfast.…
