This hotel comes with luxury at a great price. I had a room with a balcony overlooking the canal. Great facilities, ice machines on the floors, safe in the room and great breakfast area with massage chairs in the reception area. A little away from the central area of Amsterdam but close to the Heineken museum and other attractions. Well...

The hotel was Ok, but it smells of mold. It's located close to a canal and a market is nearby. There were two nice coffee shops nearby. And walking distance to the museum area and parks. Schttle to the airport worked fine.

We stayed here for 3 nights and although it is not near to the centre, the tram system is cheap and there is a stop right by the hotel. This was my second trip to Amsterdam and I wanted to be near the Rijks museum, rather than near the red light district, I couldn't have been much closer! Nice couple...

No better place to stay for proximity to the three major museums in Amsterdam. 10-15 minute walk to the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk Museum. One block to the #16 and #24 tram lines running into the center of the city and the train station. Across the canal from the interesting Albert Cuyp open market, as well as...

I found the hotel to be very nice. The staff was great! The lady that serviced my room was AWESOME!!! She should get a raise:) One of the things I like most about the hotel was that I felt safe staying there. Everything was within walking distance.

Great hotel, lovely accommodations, garage parking was a perk! Room was spacious with huge floor to ceiling windows. Location just down the street from the Rijksmuseum & "iamsterdam" sign. Heineken Experience brewery a short walk away as well! Tram stop closeby to get into old town. The canal right out front of the hotel was picturesque as well. Highly recommended...

Visited the place in late December 2014. Well situated, walking distances to the museums. Our room was on the 4th floor and we had a lovely view of the city and sunrise! The staff did not disturb us while we were doing work in the lobby and wifi was strong. Would recommend this place.

If you are going to Amsterdam to visit its marvelous museums -- the Van Gogh, the Rijksmuseum and the modern art museum, you could not ask for a better location than this hotel, which is only a short walk from them. The hotel itself is perfectly adequate though somewhat lacking in charm. The rooms are classic and comfortable though missing...

Friendly, helpful staff and a great breakfast experience are features of the NH Museum Quarter Hotel. Our room was comfortable, if a little 'tired', and had a beautiful view overlooking the canal. Very easy to walk or ride a bike around the nearby museums and just a short stroll to 'de Pijp' area's good selection of affordable restaurants and cafes....

Well situated, room is large and clean. Personnel very helpful. Weather was lousy but that's not the hotel's fault! Breakfast nicely laid out and interesting.Pillows …… Should have in the room a booklet indicating the services available from that particular hotel and not the NH chain hotels in general. Would definitely stay there again.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
