Rooms adequate size for short break but not much storage. Nice & clean with comfortable beds, free safe & excellent wifi. A mirror in room would improve matters as no socket for straighteners etc in bathroom. Good variety at breakfast & tables are cleared & wiped down by pleasant affable staff. Best points are convenient location & professional, helpful staff.

What a wonderful stay for my birthday. They let us check in early at 10am. The room is basis but very nice, bed extremely comfy. The bathroom is small though which doesn't help if you were a larger person. They put a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine in our room as it was a special occasion. Happily... More

A last minute business trip necessitated a one night stay and the Ibis Styles had a room. Don't make my mistake and head for the first Ibis you see when coming out of the central station...the confused look and mild panic on the receptionist face gave away that I was in the wrong hotel. The right hotel is in a... More

We stayed for 2 nights prior to a river cruise to Budapest. The room was very compact, so small only space for a night table on one side of the bed. There was a small table and chair, with a tiny closet space. We had to leave our suitcases standing on the little floor space available. We were asked if... More

Ideal location, bright new style.Breakfast was very good. Staff were friendly, helpful and informative. We had a lovely meal at Flame restaurant on site. We asked for a quiet room at the back of the hotel, reception staff readily agreed, although we had been upgraded to larger room at the front overlooking the street.

Well Ok - I wanted to be in the centre and you do pay for that here - about £180 a night but that's more or less the going rate for an average place to stay in the City Centre. I liked the location, friendly staff and the minimalistic bedrooms that had very comfy beds. AC worked well and the... More

The price is just about right. Clean room, very comfortable bed. Appealing combination of styles -- old and new. Smart contrast of dark wood (floor and oddly- shaped, massive beams) and three chalk-white walls, one vivid apple-green, shiny feature wall. Nice Italian shower room, interestingly fitted in a long, narrow vestibule. Quite noisy, though, on the 1st floor facing the... More

Very good central, location first time there. Rooms were clear food excellent. Smaller than the ibis over the road but when you have good company the hotel has everything you need. Central to all the bars and train station for the airport.

Love the location. We took a train from airport to Central Station. It was less than 10 minutes walk to the hotel from there. Hop on Hop off bus & canal cruise pick up are also nearby. Even the pick up point for day tour is within walking distance. Many restaurants to choose from in the area. We even walked... More

This is a budget hotel and the room was tiny. However it was quite clean and had a safe, mini bar, and very comfortable bed. The cost on Friday and Saturday nights was 50% more than the other three nights we stayed (I wish I had known before I set the itinerary). The location is fantastic 5 minutes walk from... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
