If you go to Amsterdam book early as the hotels become very expensive and end up in a bit of a dive ! A twin room for £170 per night no food included, and tatty verging on very grubby At least it had on suite ,as some single rooms had shared bathroom toilet . And where getting quoted 95 euros... This "hotel" is a disgrace. Used condoms on the wardrobe, mouldy shower heads, terrible views (see attached pictures). They have hidden signs saying that if you don't bring your handwritten paper receipt back you don't get your deposit back, the deposit seemed extortionate as well at €30 a person (5 people) for a single key. We had to check out... More

Me and my friends just stayed here for one night for a 30th birthday!! The location is fantastic as its right across the road from the train station and about a 15-20 minute walk to the main square and red light district!! The hotel itself is very basic, our rooms were ok but wouldn't of wanted to stay longer than... More

Well after staying last time in a 4 star hotel when we last came to Amsterdam I was not prepared for this. Let's start with the reception there is a wonderful of aroma of diarrhoea mixed with a cheap air freshener to help prepare you for what lies ahead. We went to book in and were kindly informed because we... More

The room was not clean and we discover later that it was full of bed bugs. I don't talk about the bathroom, we couldn't take a shower because it was so dirty. The Price is so high and the quality is so awful. Never go there!!!

It's not clean and the bed is very uncomfortable. The location is very good in the center of Amsterdam. But I wouldn't stay here again for this price. You should keep looking for a nicer hotel that is cheaper.

If your staying here for a short time meaning a day or two you should be fine, any longer I would look for somewhere else. The hotel needs renovating badly (mouldy) our room had a broken window frame in it very unsafe even though steel bar screwed in to keep it in place. Had a twin room no TV, towels... More

Please avoid this "hotel" at all costs. For €146 you get two less than twin "beds" pushed together to form a pseudo-bed, a shower with exposed electrical wires and light bulb, and your very own sink! For €146 you also get to share a toilet with other rooms! Going in the fall or winter? Better bring an extra blanket and... More

This is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in ESPECIALLY for the price. I realize we accidentally planned our trip during a music festival so prices are high, but my god. In no way should this place EVER cost this much. No private toilet and the one available is disgusting the shower is not only one of the... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
