My husband and I just spent a few days in the Garden Suite. We loved everything about the this apartment. The location is wonderful - just a short walk to the museums and an easy walk to all of the major attractions in Amsterdam. The apartment is very quiet and peaceful - located on the ground floor you have access...

All viewing a beautiful tropical garden area with private setting area and gas fire pit. Stay with the best and forget the rest and you will be enjoying complimentary wine, cheese and ham in the heart of Amsterdam!!!...

I stayed with Charles back in April, a different apartment on the second floor, please see the other review. This time I chose the Garden Suite. My expectations were already high, having sampled the marvellous hosting talents of this most gentile and charming gentleman before. A garden to die for, mature and spacious with everything a garden should have, a...

We stayed in the Garden Suite and loved every minuet we were there. The apartment was lovely and the garden even better. The refrigerator was well stocked and we had croissants delivered to our door every morning. The park is quite close for jogging or walking. We loved staying here and would come back again.

We are fortunate to travel extensively all over the world. Recently we have started renting apartments rather than hotel rooms. We are at the end of a month in Europe and we are 2 days into 4 in Charles's wonderful apartment. It is simply perfect, we feel like we are back in time with the incredible antique decorations and the...

My partner and I stayed at the Garden Suite apartment for five nights/six days during February 2015, having booked the trip to celebrate Andy’s 40th Birthday. Communication with Charles, the owner was excellent in advance of the trip and continued to be very good during our stay. On arrival the apartment was beautifully prepared with an array of fresh flowers,...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.

“Make the most of the amazing garden and light the fire and turn on the heaters if cold outside. The outdoor lighting makes this a perfect place to enjoy an evening drink or two. Very pretty and romantic garden-hideaway.”
