I don’t even know where to begin this review. This place is literally heaven on earth. Absolutely spotless clean, warm, cosy, relaxing and very romantic! The apartment is owned by Charles, but our host was Sjurd. This man literally goes above and beyond. Nothing is too much trouble, he’s very attentive yet not intrusive and quite possible the kindest man we’ve ever met! our postcards will be kept always for our memories of this amazing place. We had the extra food/drinks package and we barely put a dent in the amount of items there were. Sjurd brought us fresh croissants and bread each morning and also baked us an apple pie which was out of this world! Candles and the fire were lit for us on arrive each night which was really thoughtful and welcoming after a long day of exploring the beautiful streets of Amsterdam. We was really surprised at the size of the garden area and the pond! It’s almost unbelievable from street view that such a beautiful garden could be on the other side. This place made the whole trip, it’s literally the most beautiful place I’ve ever stayed. Everyone we know has been asking where we had stayed and has commented on how amazing it looks. Again, Thank you so much, Sjurd. I’m sure you’ll be seeing us again on our next trip, lots of love. Louie and Levi x

I'm not sure how much I can add to the chorus of superlatives already listed here in other reviews, but I feel I owe it to our hosts to try anyway! Our time in Amsterdam was among the best days of our lives and this is largely due to the magic of the Garden Suite. There's nothing else I can compare it to, this sublimely beautiful haven in central Amsterdam. We have never experienced a location or service like it. The photos of the garden are impressive but even they do not do it justice. My partner stopped and gasped when we walked into the apartment and had to take a few moments to compose himself - it was quite literally breathtaking! The home-baked apple pie Charles left us was the best we've ever eaten and the fridge was well stocked with wines, champagne and gorgeous food. The floral arrangements were absolutely stunning. Everything was immaculately clean. The design of the garden and apartment was so clever and well considered - from every angle you look, you have a beautiful and interesting view. It's clear to see an architect's hand in it! We have incredible memories of our (too short) time at the Garden Suite and cannot wait until we are able to return - hopefully for longer, next time. Thank you so much Charles and Ferry for making our stay so very special. To anybody hesitating on whether to book or not - DO IT! You won't find anything else like it.

We were here just for a city weekend. Truely amazing beautiful and beyond all our expectations. For the traveler who is seeking the nicest area of the city and respects a quit sleep, you could not possibly pick a better spot. Candles, fireplace, a complementary bottle of wine, berries and everything else you could wish for in the fridge. You feel cared for and pampered at the same time. The view of the tropical garden and all the special touches made the experience magic. There are delicious restaurants nearby. We will be back for sure.

Came to Europe for our honeymoon but Amsterdam was the last before home and we arrived hot and frazzled from the 11 hour car+train journey. The room wasn't ready, OK, he said please give us 30 minutes. We headed for Leidseplein, the tourist-heavy shopping-and-smoking-and-eating crossroads just 5-6 blocks away. We didn't arrive back in 30 minutes and didn't receive a text from the host, but that we didn't come immediately back seemed disturbing to them. Also, given our even MORE exhausted frame of mind after going back into the (unusual) heat when our room wasn't ready, we were keen to shorten or postpone a lengthy explanation of things. One improvement is that the contract to sign could best be addressed and completed prior to arrival rather than upon arrival, and other key items (what to do to reset the water heater, what's included in the deluxe package, how the garden lights work, etc) could also be written and left in a binder for reference. I led with some of the less fabulous things but that's easily as "bad" as things got, so that should say something. The apartment is as I said super central to the city; the museum platz is walkable and the Vondelpark is just across the street. Tram stops are three blocks south and high end shopping is just a couple blocks south as well. Charles and Steven and his housekeeping team did everything they could to make sure we had what we needed and wanted. They brought fresh flowers, beautiful art cards with handwritten messages, home baked goods, and filled the fridge largely to our preferences each day with a host of high quality items (this was with the deluxe package, 40E per night). They offered headache medicine, salon recommendations, and were very flexible about housekeeping while we were gone. The garden is beautiful although it may not have gotten its summer trim yet; the ivy kind of blocks the door to the interior and the new growth makes going through to the lounge area a brush with brush. There was some construction going on and one day in fact workers sharing the area near us as we "lounged;" looks like they're putting in a mini canal to feed the pond? Several koi swim around right near the floor to ceiling window looking out; they're fun to watch from the couch. I should highlight the lounge area; smoking is permitted although strangely not by guests, that seems weird and random. It can be tough for visitors to find places to smoke that are not inside coffeeshops; as long as you are quiet and discreet it is a welcome refuge. Overall I think the garden area was well photographed; it looks a bit bigger than it is. You essentially walk from the patio door to the lounge but there isn't otherwise much space. On the other hand, it's an oasis in the middle of a set of city center row houses; what do you want? The bedroom is small but the bed is an actual queen/king and not two twins lashed together as is common in Europe. Very comfortable, if the room was a bit filled by the bed. Also the only climate control was in the bedroom; the rest of the space suffered a bit in the heat for that. As high temps become more common in summer in Europe a fan might help or one more small AC unit. Also I don't think there's any actual TV service, just digital radio. Value wise it might be just a touch expensive, but the team works so very hard at service that even if you don't need all the attention they deserve credit for offering it. Charles and Steven could NOT be nicer and they have fine taste. They offer hotel-quality service for a private rental, which should also be recognized. And you don't get a private garden sitting area in your hotel! Well recommended all around.

Like nowhere else we have ever stayed - there is nothing at all to fault about this beautiful apartment. Finished to a very high standard and immaculately clean. Everything you could wish for was provided by our wonderful hosts Charles and Omar who were on hand to offer advice on where to go/what to see/eating out. Lovely details like fresh flowers on arrival, candles lit with fridge filled with more than enough to dine in and was replenished daily. Fresh croissants arrived for breakfast daily along with a homemade apple pie one day! The garden is truly amazing with a cozy heated seating area, hard to imagine you’re in the middle of a city it’s so tranquil. If you want somewhere to stay that’s central with privacy, personal touches and to feel indulged - this is the place for you. Can’t wait to return.
