#2 of 387 B&Bs / Inns in Amsterdam
Set in a protected 17th century house in the heart of old Amsterdam, the Weavery offers the unique character and style of a boutique hotel, with the personal service and homey comfort of a family run bed & breakfast."Gezelligheid" (roughly translated it means cozy and pleasant) we keep top of mind at the Weavery. Another key characteristic is independence. Each room is fully self-contained, with private bath and w/c, separate entrance and kitchenette. Our charming rooms feel like a home away from home to the independent minded traveler, who likes to move at his own pace. In short, we designed the Weavery to feel more like a pied-à-terre than a hotel or traditional bed & breakfast. The Weavery is as perfectly located as can be imagined. We are just 5 minutes walk from the museum square and a short stroll from all the big theaters. All the main shopping areas like Leidestraat, the 9 Streets and PC Hooftstraat are just around the corner and so are many lovely cafes and restaurants. Our rooms offer - Queen size beds- Ensuite bathrooms with bath/rain-shower and W/C- Bathrobes- Rituals bathroom amenities- Hairdryer- Kitchenette with double cook plate, microwave, dishwasher and fridge- Coffee/tea making facilities- Lounge corner- Flatscreen TV- Wireless Internet- Laptop Safe- ipod docking stationWe have two rooms: The Silk room which is located on the lower ground level and sleeps up to 3 people and the Suite, located on the 2nd floor, which has its own private roof terrace and sleeps up to 4 people.

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

Bettina is such a great host and the pictures barely do this place justice. If it wasn't always so wet during our stay the balcony would have been a great hangout, but even as it was the room is so roomy and well appointed that we enjoyed being in almost as much as going out. Right on the metro line, a straight shot to the train station, this is a great place if you want to day trip to all the beautiful Dutch towns. I will recommend to my children, I think this would fit four. Great for a small family, too.

Our daughters booked The Weavery to celebrate me and my husband turning 50. The tram was 25 minutes from the airport and then an easy 5 minutes walk to The Weavery. Having already messaged Bettina to tell her our arrival time she was waiting and informed us that the upstairs room was already vacant so we could go up and leave our bags there until our daughters downstairs room had been prepared. It was right at the top of the house and accessed up a couple of flights of stairs, The room was amazing, it had lots of character and lovely quirky features and felt very spacious, it had everything you could need for a short break with the added bonus of a lovely outdoor area wth plenty of seating which was very welcome In the heat. Towels, bathrobes and toiletries are supplied and the rooms are cleaned daily. As Bettina knew we were celebrating our birthdays she had kindly made us a vegan cake and left us a bottle of champagne to share with our daughters, it was a lovely gesture, she also supplied soya milk in the downstairs fridge for our girls and homemade biscuits were left in our rooms on our last evening. We were given a map of the city that had been marked up with places we might like to visit and Bettina was always on hand for advice. We were made to feel very welcome throughout our visit and after having a wonderful 4 days would not hesitate to visit again. Thank You Bettina for your wonderful hospitality!

We prefer not to let out the secret about this charming little b&b in Amsterdam with an uber friendly warm and helpful host Bettina who is willing to bend over backwards to make your stay enjoyable & memorable. Bettina was always prompt with her emails & always available to give advice on sightseeing, bike riding, where to eat, she made a group restaurant reservation for us, booked taxis for us. The baked treats were also a very generous gesture. So much attention to detail. Thank you so much Bettina, we loved staying at the Weavery and hope to come again soon.

We stayed here in January and I am ashamed it has taken us this long to write a positive review! However, here it is... Bettina was the perfect host before we even arrived. Great email communication and although we needed to change our dates slightly, this seemed in no way an imposition and was easily facilitated. My boyfriend and I have lived apart and we wanted the perfect special location to relax together and feel like we were in "real" Amsterdam. The Weavery did not disappoint. It was as charming as its hostess. We had champagne and cake ready in the room. The cleanliness was impeccable. The Suite was our perfect getaway room with all its quirk and tasteful originality. Lots of great details from yoga mats, slippers, mini kitchenette, fresh fruit and cakes! It was very comfortable and instantly we felt very at home. The location of the Weavery was perfect for exploring Amsterdam. All in all, we felt we had a very memorable and special trip. One which we still think about now fondly. We would definitely return - and we will one day! Thank you Bettina and apologies for the delay of our review.
