We had this hotel booked via a package - British Airways and was very anxious about the reviews we read. How wrong we were !! Once inside our views greatly changed and worries disappeared. It is a great hotel for couples who want a good bed to sleep in- excellent showers- coffee, tea, air con, safe and TV with BBC. Very clean - the colours of the rooms ( Brown) not do it justice- it is very clean- everywhere. It was extremely central to the food centre of Amsterdam - 5 min walk and the tram number 1 ran from outside. It was noisy at night but not enough to keep you awake. If you want to eat it is close to the food quarter but if you are on a budget, there was a supermarket next door and a microwave to cook and a place down stairs to eat it. Staff were brilliant - told us how to get everywhere, lent us an adaptor and couldn't do more for you. It is a no frill hotel but a great place to lay your head - everything you needed was there Don't judge a book by its cover - if you want frill and fuss go somewhere else

I really enjoyed this hotel. I thought it was very cosy and the bed was very comfortable and everything was really clean. The only downfall was the room being abit cramped and small but didnt affect my stay and i would stay here again.

Room was hot and ac wasn’t working even though they said it was. The hallway was cooler than our room. Had to sleep practically naked on top of the covers. It’s named ‘Espresso’ but espresso wasn’t included, only a machine for 1 euro per cup. Room was cramped and bed was low and always felt like you were getting off the floor.

We were worried about staying after seeing the reviews but we enjoyed our stay here. Only downside was the size of the room. Trams are very handy and central to all restaurants and shops. Tram stop only a few minutes walk away. Staff were handful when needed and room was serviced daily.

After a trip through Belgium and the Netherlands we were spending our last couple of nights in Amsterdam before heading home. We didn't want to splurge but also didn't want to be too far from everything since we had limited time. We weren't looking to have a million tourists walking by, or a loud bar scene at night. This hotel was perfect. Great price, great location, great room.

Disappointing. Stayed at this hotel in 2016 and 2017, and the experience at this property really has gone “downhill.” On the positive, I will say 1) the room was clean, and was serviced once on the 3-night stay, which was appreciated, and 2) the hotel is in an outstanding location, near the Museums, market conveniences, and a short walk from light-rail to get downtown and bus lines to Schiphol Airport. Downsides…tiny, spartan rooms. Beds barely above a foot off the ground. And NO breakfast offering, which was a huge change from 2016 & 2017 - nothing. Skimpy offerings of towels, tissues and toilet paper in rooms, and when asked for more, was given the entire runaround. When asked for breakfast suggestions, staff were entirely un knowledgeable and honestly didn’t appear to even care to help their travelers and guests. (“Well there are several places up at Leidesplien”… when I asked specific names, I was told “well I don’t know, just look them up yourself!” Seriously??? Staff really were unprofessional, and just didn’t care.) Bottom-line: look elsewhere…unless you’re a backpacker and looking for a “step-above” a Hostel experience, consider looking into other options - I certainly will.

Clean and comfortable , one snag which was addressed straight away. Central to both sides of the city. Met our needs somewhere to place your bags , head off , sleep , shower and go again. Food facilities we didn’t use so can’t comment. Friendly and helpful staff

I am so angry with this hotel it is difficult to express how bad they were. I paid over the odds for a double and was given a boxroom not big enough for a child. Staff were unhelpful and would not let me speak to the manager or even give me his name and refused to consider any compensation for charging me 714 Euros for 3 nights for a twin room that was so small it was difficult to move around. the sheets had holes and the mattress was badly stained. If I could score a ZERO I would. this place is a disgrace, over priced, unfriendly and spoilt a great city for us.

Do not book at this hotel! First of all, it is not possible to open the windows in any of their rooms, the rooms are very foggy and not ventilated, and the AC is not working. The bathroom ceiling was also full of mould. You can’t breathe fresh air at this hotel. Furthermore there are very very bad lightning in the rooms even if all the lamps were turned on. We could hear the people from the street from the room during night. Poor cleaning facilities (or none), during our 5 night stay, they only came in our room once, and that was to make the bed only. None of the staff were friendly and you could not even get a greeting out of them when you meet them in the reception or hallways. Only plus is probably that it is located close to the city center, but that wouldn’t get me to book here again considering all the cons. They offer coffee in the lobby but demands you to pay 1euro for it at the reception. Very very expensive stay considering the standards.

After reading some truly awful reviews before arriving, I was dreading spending 2 nights staying here. However, we had a great stay. V comfy beds, clean rooms and perfect location to the city centre.
