We were greeted in a friendly way, and the room was very clean, but that's about all I have to say that's positive about our experience. We had requested early check-in via email which was confirmed, but then we sat in the lobby for hours without a room despite being promised it was "almost ready." Imagine finally getting a room,...

Stayed here as part of a larger group attending a conference in Amsterdam. Within walking distance to Convention Center, most tourist attractions, restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets and a number of tram lines. Unfortunately quite a bit of road, tram and canal repair/construction/upgrade during our visit. Breakfast very good with continental selection along with a hot entree from kitchen. Excellent service. The...

Everything about our stay at the Sir Albert was fantastic! We were there for our honeymoon and after getting a detailed orientation of the city by the concierge with a glass of champagne we were welcomed to a very comfortable, light drenched room with rose petals on the bed. Perfect start to our honeymoon! The linens were soft, bed comfortable...

We had a super warm welcome on check in - we were asked about our specific Amsterdam interests and given personalised recommendations of how to spend our time. It was my birthday during the stay and I came 'home' to balloons on my bed. The bed was super comfy, the room was cosy and quiet despite the buzzing restaurant downstairs...

We found the hotel staff vey friendly and accommodating, both in reception and at the breakfast service. The rooms are lovely, very luxurious, although you need to be a bit techie with all the remotes! The bed was exceptionally comfortable and there was a powerful hot shower. Check in is from 3pm, but we were lucky as our room was...

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
