Staff did anything to make us feel welcome, put up an extra bed when they noticed our child (who didn’t want to sleep over elsewhere). The suite was simply stunning, spacious and light. So cute nice to have flexibel check in and out. The food got delivered to our room in take away bags, can’t wait to come back to dine in the blue spoon restaurant.

Hotel's Favorite
We had a fantastic stay at the Andaz. This is a good location to explore, a short walk to Anne Frank’s house and on the historic canals. Room was very comfortable and loved the decor. Would definitely recommend.

I stayed during lockdown, it was quiet by the staff were so friendly and always had time to say hello. The suite I stayed in was gorgeous and really comfortable. The room service food was really nice as well, despite lock down rules they made every effort to ensure I could eat some good food!

It may have just been one of those times where everything goes wrong during your stay, and I’m sure that it could have been a wonderful experience if that weren’t the case for us. We had upgraded our room to canal view upon check in, which I was super excited about because she said we could have breakfast in bed overlooking the canals. When we got to the room our canal view was only one window, which was blocked by a giant chair (see photo). I called and asked if there where rooms like on the website with actual canal view. The guest relations showed me another room which was better so we moved. When settled in to that room, we found out the electricity wasn’t working and a couple minutes later the guest relations lady knocked on our door saying that maintenance had asked us to move out because they had no time to fix it that day. So on to another room. Which was not as nice as the previous one. By that time the guest relations lady said that she would take the money for the upgrade off the bill for all the trouble - which never happened and I ended up paying it at checkout. Moving on to the night, we reserved dinner at the restaurant but we were seated in the bar, which was loud and cold. We asked if we could just move to the restaurant but that was full so we had to stay there. Took away the whole romantic dinner experience which we were so longing for during COVID. The cocktails were absolutely marvelous tho. We had booked the sauna for the night, the last slot. We were all excited to get some spa time. When we got to the sauna, an employee had turned it off, even though we had reserved a time with reception. The sauna was 30 degrees. I went upstairs to the reception in my bathrobe and asked what was going on. He said they turned it off but they would turn it back on again although it would take a while to get to the right temperature. Since it was already 9:30 we didn’t really want to wait another hour or so. We were offered a slot for noon the next day, but we wanted to explore the city during the day. So that was the end to our spa time. Breakfast next morning was wonderful and the late check out was very nice too. Don’t get me wrong, the hotel is very nice and we loved interior design. But I’ve studied hotel management and I saw a lot of flaws during our stay. Not a usual 5* experience for us I’m afraid.

All guest correspondence is read with true interest and all matters are shared with the team with the aim of improving the services we offer. Please accept my sincere apologies for the frustration and inconvenienced caused. This experience indeed does not reflect our usual high standards that we strive to provide to all our guests and I do hope that you will give us another opportunity in the near to make up for the lack of satisfaction. This hotel is near and dear to me for several reasons, and I always keep coming back. Recently took advantage of a phenomenal ‘’staycation’’ package on offer for residents of the Netherlands and it did not disappoint. The hotel is gorgeous and in immaculate condition; just as one would expect during normal times. Rooms are simply beautiful and well-decorated/apportioned with tons of great amenities including a complimentary minibar (sans alcohol) and Nespresso machine. Besides the lovely canal view, the shower is definitely the highlight of the room. The drinks on offer along with dinner in the hotel restaurant make for an even better occasion. What truly makes this hotel standout, in my opinion, is the staff. Always, they are incredibly engaging, courteous, friendly, and genuine. I want to highlight Christina, Jia, Yannis, Leo, Wilfred, Klelia, and Livia for doing an incredible job and making our stay one for the books.
