My husband and I stayed at the XO Hotels Park West in Amsterdam last week as part of a trip to visit the city for the first time. We had an amazing stay! The staff were friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. The check-in experience was easy and straightforward even though we arrived very late at night. Our room was super spacious and spotless, with a large and comfy bed, perfect air conditioning and heating, and a huge bathroom with a large shower and sink area. There was a coffee machine in the room, along with lots of wardrobe and storage space, a hairdryer, an iron and ironing board, and some other bits such as an electronic safe to store valuables.
On the outside of the room door, there is an electronic panel that can be controlled from the inside that allows you to indicate whether you do not want to be disturbed, or whether you would like to request housekeeping. It was very fun!
The highlight was the heated floor in the bathroom which was so cosy when we returned at the end of some rainy days. When housekeeping did visit, they left fresh towels, fresh hand wash and toiletries and toiler paper and more.
The very tiny downsides were that some of the TV channels didn't work, and that there was only a small selection of teabags in the room.
Location-wise, we found that this hotel was perfect for us. It's about a 10-15 minute car ride from Amsterdam Centraal Station, which made it central but not central enough to be anywhere near the expensive tourist trap areas. When needed, we simply booked cabs through Uber or more often got the bus from right outside the hotel to get around the City. We found it very well-connected and had no issues moving around, and had the joy of the hotel being in a nice, quiet location at the end of the day. We slept very well, and woke up refreshed each day and ready to explore.
We ate breakfast one morning in the hotel at the restaurant and would highly recommend it. There was a huge range of food available, and it was fresh and hot, including masses of delicious fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts, continental offerings such as lots of meats and cheeses, and hot options such as hash browns, beans, tomatoes, a variety of eggs, sausages, meatballs and more. We only paid 18 Euros per person for this buffet breakfast, where you can help yourself to as much as you like, which we thought was very food value for money in the area.
The clientele of the hotel was mixed, but it was clearly family-friendly and peaceful.
Overall, an excellent stay. We would highly recommend it and would return in a heartbeat. We also plan to look out for this brand of hotels in other places in future!

Like most reviews already have mentioned, this hotel is located near Amsterdam Sloterdijk train station, which is very convenient if you want to venture out around the Netherlands, to get from and to airport, and to get to Amsterdam central. In addition, there is tram 19 stop right outside the hotel, which is 1 stop from the train station and a few stops to the center from the hotel. There is a grocery store and a great Italian restaurant right across the street. All hotel staff we encountered were super nice and helpful. The hotel offers luggage storage, which was awesome because we had an early flight but were able to drop off the luggage and start our exploration. The rooms have a small fridge and a safe. There are basic toiletries (hair and body wash in one, liquid hand soap, hair conditioner, body lotion) and the shower has a great water pressure and really hot water. There is a daily breakfast that can be purchased at 18 euros per person, but we tried it just once. I was debating if we should stay here or near the center but after our vacation I know we made the right decision. For 6 nights we paid 3 to 4 times less than if we were to stay in the center. Not only we had explored Amsterdam, we also have used the trains to travel all over the Netherlands.

stayed here with my wife on a short break to Amsterdam. The hotel was very clean and reception staff very welcoming. It is in a great location as its just a 5 min walk to Amsterdam sloterdijk station, where you can get the train (about 3 euros each way) straight into the centre of Amsterdam. There is a tram stop directly outside the hotel but was not running whilst we were there, hence we used the train, which was just as easy! The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfy. You can let housekeeping know if you want your room cleaned by a button in the room, which i thought was very good.
overall if you are looking for an affordable nice hotel, close to the centre, then highly recommend

From the minute I walked into the hotel I felt intimidated by the staff which were very rude . It is not a welcoming environment at all I had to check myself in and I had to ask for a second key to my room. The location is not the best and the beds are extremely uncomfortable. Every morning I was woken up by the housekeeping staff knocking on my door , the only positive was that the room size was decent I would not recommend to stay here.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights in September 2024 and paid over €600.
We were horrified on our 3rd day to discover that the housekeeping staff had concealed with clean sheets, dried blood splattered all over the duvets. Every day the housekeeping staff would have seen the huge blood contamination all over the duvet, but covered the same in sheets hoping it wouldn’t be discovered.
What’s worse, when we complained, the General Manager denied that dried blood is considered a high risk of transmitting serious diseases - hopefully not an opinion that represents the hygiene policy of the hotel?
Blood is exactly how disease can be spread and it is highly contaminated and hazardous having a strangers blood covered all over the duvet (a place where you sleep).
It raises serious concerns about the overall cleanliness of the room and the attention to hygiene protocols. Such an oversight compromises guest safety and comfort, which we found deeply concerning.
The hotel manager also denied that housekeeping staff concealed the blood, but there is literally no other explanation for what happened during our stay.
The hotel supervisor first offered no financial compensation and then at a push, offered 10% from the cost of our stay of 20% off our next day.
Considering the severity of the experience in regard to hygiene and customer service, we asked for the matter to be escalated to higher management. Since then, there has been no response.
Please don’t waste your money here - especially if you are medically vulnerable. What a terrible time we had - which is such a shame because Amsterdam is beautiful.

Pros: Easy check in Lovely staff Clean Our kids loved the cuddly toys they were given at check in Promotion of drinking tap water- a sign explaining that Dutch tap water is safe. I would come back to the hotel for this. Thanks for not trashing the planet! Nice location next to a beautiful park and easy transport The breakfast was fabulous
Cons We paid adult rate for the kids breakfasts so it worked out quite expensive No bath No proper restaurant on site though the downstairs area was really nice No In- room recycling facilities
Overall, would definitely return without hesitation

Pros - (1) The bedroom was very well equipped, spacious and comfortable for three persons. There were lots of little details such as a capsule coffee machine (with hot water for tea), iron & board, walk-in shower, etc. (2) The reception staff were friendly and helpful (3) transport links were good with easy access to the centre. (4) there is a LIDL just minutes away if you need to buy fruit, etc.
Cons - No problems. The only slight inconvenience was the lack of nearby restaurants. That said, the Italian restaurant nearby (La Casa di Michael) was conveniently just a few minutes ' walk and the food was very good and medium-priced.
I have just one suggestion for the hotel and that is to exchange the small bottles of soap, shampoo, etc, for large refillable dispensers fitted in the bathroom. I saw this at a Hilton hotel and it is easier (and probably more economical for the hotel) in comparison with small disposable bottles.
I highly recommend this hotel.

The room is big and location is not too far from the center, around 20mins by tram 19 which stops right in front of the hotel or take the metro from sloterdijk station which will take you to center in around 5mins. We booked the wrong room but the staff were very kind enough to make better room arrangements for us! Which is great and really a nice gesture to the customers. We've actually booked this hotel twice now because of the same reasons. Pillows are a bit soft though but the bed was so comfy and we always get a very good night sleep. Will still come back to this hotel whenever we visit amsterdam again. Tip: book directly from the hotel's official website and you get beyter rates and offers. We paid additional 20 euros only to check out until 2pm though checkout time was 11am.

Our reservation for four rooms with breakfast for six people for one night, total cost €943.20, had to be canceled due to medical reasons
The cancellation was made 11 days in advance so that the hotel could VERY easily re-rent these rooms in the remaining time frame. Nevertheless, they refuse to refund the amount paid, hiding behind the general terms and conditions. The other excuse was the alleged cheapest price: 220€/night is in my opinion not a bargain and certainly not an excuse.
In English this is called HIHGWAY ROBBBERY Shame on this hotel and their attitude!!

The hotel has very helpful and professional staff, check-in was easy and straightforward. My room was an ok size with a decent bathroom which had a walk-in rain shower and shower/hair gel provided. Coffee machine in room with a few pods and teabags, fridge, safe, iron etc.
I didn’t take breakfast (€18) or any meals at the hotel, so can’t comment on this.
I had understood that there was a tram stop outside or near the hotel, which would have meant travel into the City would be straightforward. But the tram line isn’t operational any longer, so the options are walk to Sloterdijk station around 10 minutes away then take a train to Centraal, and I saw there were maybe buses too.
As I was only here for three nights, I was disappointed by the location and the real lack of anything to do or see nearby, such as bars, cafes, buildings and restaurants, as well as the lack of a tram stop. Maybe I should have researched better! It was certainly good value for money, but then in such a position you can understand why.
