This is the worst place to sleep in. Climbing stairs is like a ladder. Room size is as the bad size . There is a chair but you cannot sit on it. The chair is disturbing to move in the room. Brief toilet door. The smell came into the room and noise are clearly heard in the room. You cannot...

Nice room cleaned every day and 10 mins from central station , staff were friendly and helpful free breakfast was good , close to all amenities and trams. Very strictly non smoking , if you smoke in the room you'll lose your deposit.

A simple booking mis-communication ended up being one of the rudest experiences I've ever had, with the manager refusing to talk to me since we had paid with my boyfriend's credit card. I was told that because of that, I 'wasn't his guest'. The hotel was also incredibly filthy. We left for another hotel after the first night on a...

Generally a decent place to stay if you want to be really central, but the room was very small and not air conditioned so even in may with temperatures outside of 27C the room got too hot to sleep in. Also since the location is near the Amsterdam center there was a lot of noise, the level of which didn't...

I would give this hotel a zero rating. I stayed here for four nights recently, at a very inflated cost of 140 euros per night. I just wish that I'd checked tripadvisor before booking. The only positive about this hotel is that it's centrally located. The rooms are gloomy and dirty and using the shower required much physical dexterity. I've...

It takes all positive energy from you! I am a frequent traveler, and I was really disappointed and get stressed with my stay, I tried to cancel, but none of my money is refundable, we are talking about 420 euros. The hotel is also blocking 100 euros extra from your credit card, so called deposit against smoking in the room,...

This hotel is disgusting, Rooms are extremely dirty. Under our bed there was a rat trap! We even found bugs. We think we were quite lucky we did not get any disease. Total absence of spare sockets in the rooms. You have to unplug the tv to charge your phone. Building works together with the extreme noise made by the...

1. The hotel promotes non-refundable fees. When you get there and find out how disgusting it is, there is no refund. If you are lucky enough not to have paid everything advance, if you leave, they will still charge you the whole amount without signature or permission of the cardholder. If you stay, they will inform you that they have...

I Stayed at the hotel Ajax from Sunday, the third to Wednesday, the 6th of April. I really enjoyed my stay, it's a lovely hotel, well situated within easy walking distance of the Amsterdam dungeon, Amsterdam museum, convenient shopping malls and a High Street: with a cheese company outlet, several lovely authentic cafes, Penny's croissants: which does the nicest doughnuts...

This hotel was absolutely amazing, the location was perfect, the staff was welcoming, warm and friendly, nothing was too much for them. Espeiclaly the blonde woman who was serving breakfast, her manners are second to none. The rooms are cosey and modern, with a real dutch feel. Beds was extremely comfy especially the pillows. Would stay here for a two...

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
