The Ajax hotel is not acceptable for the requirements of a functional hotel. For a start a hotel undergoing that much renovation should not be allowed to be open during the works. Not only is this impractical, causes noise pollution, dust, paint fumes etc but...More

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

The hotel should get shut down. I was there May 2017 with some of my friends. The hotel is complete filth. At the reception area is where you also eat breakfast, I didn’t eat breakfast there no way, you got a cat that’s laying all over the sofas and beside the breakfast area. The stairs are very dangerous and steep. The rooms are dirty and you can just feel how dirty the hotel
Is. Yes there are bed bugs also, my cousin woke up to 4 bite marks on his arm, the bed bugs are very tiny but they exist. The owner (David) is just a rude old man on all levels. He Doesn’t know how to talk to customer politely and I told him he needs to speak to customers properly and be polite especially if customers have been told the wrong information, he gets angry and tells customers different prices
