This hotel was the residence of one of the most famous Dutch admirals. It is located near the Central station and near the Nemo museum. We stay in a 4 person room which was big enough and had almost everything. Breakfast was delicious and all the staff was polite and helpful.

I m gonna start with the good things. It s 5-7 min to central station, 3-5 min to redlight district, half an hour to vangogh, 20 minutes to Dam square. The breakfast is very good for a 3 star hotel, the rooms are clean. Now the bad part- we stayed at what they considered to be first floor, actually a...

Super location. Clean & Friendly. Lift only goes to 2nd floor then it's steep stairs to 3rd floor. But not a problem for the able bodied. Would go back in a heartbeat. Breakfast was obviously continental & fresh.

Spent one night here in August 2016. Room was quite small but had character. Not cheap at €130 but buffet breakfast was included. Staff were polite and helpful. Good location, just a five minute walk from city centre. No parking on site, so used out of town park & ride scheme and got tram back. Car park was full &...

Nice hotel with great staff and comfortable beds. Went as a group of ten girls, good location, friendly staff, cheap bar. What more could you want? Breakfast wasn't worth getting up for but that's continental breakfast for you. Rooms are small and there are lots of stairs but it all added to the Amsterdam experience.

Having spent 4 nights in this hotel, we found the location good with quite a few local cafes and restaurants very close by. The city area was only about a 10 minute walk away. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had friends staying at the same time in another room in the hotel so we learned that you need...

Room 303 under room 401 has no proper ceiling leaving you to hear 'everything ' going on upstairs, including every foot step guests make...the drunks at 3am don't help either. The cleaner loves to make as much noise as possible knowing your in your room. Worst hotel experience ever!

We stayed at City Hotel for 2 nights. Good value for the location. Breakfast ok, room clean, good bed, bathroom seemed to be new. Everything you need for a comforable stay is there so for 3 stars it's fine. Breakfast only until 10.00 is a bit short for party guests.

Clean, Tidy, Friendly Staff and very central to All that Amsterdam has to offer. Would I use again? Certainly. Parking is available a short walk away. This is a great base to use whilst you explore one of Europe's most vibrant cities.

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
