We stayed in Savoy for four nights in July and had a really nice and pleasant stay. I had been in Amsterdam only for one afternoon before this holiday so I did not really know the city and therefore spent a lot of time choosing the hotel. Wanted to have a bit of luxury but for a decent price. Good... More

I picked the Savoy because of other reviews on this site and its location, essentially next door to the Okura Hotel Amsterdam, nearby a conference I was attending. The Okura was MUCH more expensive than I wanted (or was reimbursable), and the Savoy was roughly half the price. The Savoy is very clean and friendly. The rooms are nice, the... More

I really liked staying here. Especially the location. The area is very nice, lots to see and do with in walking distance. Tram stops directly across the street so getting to center and "tourist areas" very easy. You can spend days just in the neighborhood with shops, parks the largest outdoor market in A'dam. The rooms are small but the... More

Big, modern rooms & baths, walking distance to the market and the main museums, free coffee and cakes, free internet - definitely well worth the money. Highly recommended.

I booked the Savoy at the last minute and was unsure what to expect because the price was so reasonable. I was pleasantly surprise! The staff were very helpful and friendly. Just loved coming back to my room, the bed was extremely comfortable, the room modern, flat screen TV, great bathroom, bath robe and slippers were provided. And best of... More

Great Hotel. I agree with the majority of reviews previously posted. Staff could not have been more helpful. Free bar / tea/ coffee a real plus. Plenty of restaurants / supermarkets nearby. Walking distance to most attractions.

We booked this hotel at the last minute because we were unsatisfied with another hotel when we arrived. I booked it on babybmi.com and got a great deal. But, honestly, the next time I go to Amsterdam, I will pay full price if I must because this hotel was that great! The amenities are fantastic, you have free internet in... More

This is an excellent hotel and a great find. They claim 4 stars which I can believe. It is a small European-style hotel with a single person at the front desk and a meal room (breakfast and always-available coffee etc). The rates are very competitive for the area and the value. Even budget travelers might find that the freebies may... More

We had a great time here. The rooms were not enormous, but they were well thought out and clean. The shower was fab! The whole place was well decorated and cared for. Breakfast was great - even for a vegetarian :-) Location was good with trams outside going into central Amsterdam every 15 mins and restaurants and museums within walking... More

Nightmare, rooms had flooded and they were moving us to there sister hotel , Savoy! They paid for the tasi there and 48Hrs tram tickets for all the group. When we got there we couldnt believe... Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
