Decent and affordable hotel. Service was good, the receptionist made sure all our needs were met. Loved the buffet breakfast. The hotel is good for conference not family type of hotel. Free Wi-Fi was a what I most looked forward too after attending the conference.

While travelling, one of the things I value most is decent hotel wifi. The wifi at this hotel was absolutely awful. When we arrived, the room smelled like weed. We didn't really mind this, but it is sure worth a mention. My fiancé and I were put in a room with two tiny beds equipped with these really annoying wheels,... More

Terrible quality. They put me in a damp basement room where the bathroom was stinking with mold and mildew. Visible in photos I took. Room was noisy and next door guests were up till three am smoking dope and talking loud. Nothing helped, not even night manager taking to them, they were so high. Equipment was also non functional -... More

The receptionist service was really bad. He told me that the breakfast was included even when I asked again for confirmation and then it was charged in the check out. He didn't give me any receipt for my travel expenses because he told me the IT system was down. Although he promised he would send it over by email, he... More

Well located near good transport connections. Good value for money. Staff are mostly disinterested in looking after guests and unresponsive to requests for service. Very poor wifi connection which is critical for business travel in today's digital world. Rooms are clean but in need of an upgrade, bedding was torn, towels thin and flaying. Breakfast selection ok.

The Good - nice location, far enough out to be quiet & not wall-to-wall with tourist hordes, lots of bars/cafes/restaurants nearby, good safe area (police next door), close to services (tram, bus, supermarket etc), rooms reasonably modern & very clean, decent selection of cable channels, wifi reasonable. The Bad - unfriendly FOH staff (though housekeeping was always cheerful). I don't... More

The room was sweltering hot because the air conditioning wasn't working, but we asked for a key to the window from reception and after the window was open for a bit the room became tolerable. Also the shower must have been broken because it would only put out incredibly hot water. Apart from this the hotel seemed perfectly nice

After booking the Savoy for us and some friends, I then read some reviews. A lot said unfriendly staff, noisy hotel, bathrooms dirty, no hot water, etc and left me really worried about what to expect, especially as i had booked it in the first place The opposite was true! The staff couldn't do enough for us, from advice on... More

Best holiday so far. The city is full of attractions, the people are so kind and helpful. Savoy hotel where I stayed for a week was in a very good location, very friendly staff, room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Its around 3km from city central, tram stop number 12 was just across the street. You can... More

Arrived for 3 days in Amsterdam with a friend, the room (double bed) was clean and tidy, good size for 2 people with nice closets, the bed was comfortable and the shower was very good! Maybe we got lucky, but we had a good experience overall, including the staff which was friendly and helpful.

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
