We had the room on the top floor, in a delightful attic with wooden beams and skylights. Twin beds were comfortable. It would be very warm in hot weather, but we were there when summer temperatures were normal (highs of 21). The hosts were exceptionally friendly and informative about things to do and see, as well as Dutch culture. The... More

It was a pleasant B&B, that offered 2 rooms so it is great for a family of 4 or 2 couples looking to travel. David and Chris were wonderful, Chris was there to get us situated and he even watched our bags before we were able to check in. The rooms were clean and the breakfast's were great, if your... More

The Tulip of Amsterdam is a unique little Bed & Breakfast with only two guest rooms. The traditional canal house is conveniently situated in the center of Amsterdam right at the canal with the tongue-twisting name Kloveniersburgwal and has an impressive history of 350 years behind it. The staircase is, as you should expect with these original old dutch houses,... More

On a recent trip to Amsterdam, we stayed 7 nights at Tulip of Amsterdam B&B. It is a small B&B with 2 guest rooms. The building is 350 years old and on a canal near the New Market Square. Each room has an en suite bath. Be aware that being an old canal house, the Tulip has very steep steps,... More

We felt comfortable like we were at home (especially since David and Chris are so nice), and also felt like we got a true local experience in this cute old Dutch building. The room is cozy and clean. The location is perfect, just next to Newmarket square. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Amsterdam .

My husband and I stayed in this B&B for three nights. This B&B has an unbeatable location in Centrum. Without heavy luggage, it is a short walk to most attractions: central train station, Dam Square... we also walked to the Rijksmuseum, Cuyp market, and Anne Frank's house (all about ~30 min walk). Many cafes/restaurants nearby, and a small supermarket (Albert... More

Chris and David were absolutely the best hosts! They were very welcoming and accommodating. They went so far as to notice which type of coffee we used in the machine on our first morning and left out extras of that type the next day! Little details like that, which added up to an amazing overall experience. The big things were... More

This was my 2nd stay with David & Chris at the Tulip B & B. I would recommend it to anyone wanting an amazing stay in an Amsterdam canal house. The rooms are so unique, clean and the breakfast beyond expectations. Close by to shopping in the Jordaan, cafes, tourist attractions and canal boat tours. Chris & David's attention to... More

This was our 3rd and 4th time in Amsterdam; the previous two times were in 2013 at a different B&B. This B&B wins hands-down for a great location and super hosts. We stayed here for 2 days upon our initial arrival in Holland. We then toured the Netherlands for 2+ weeks, ending with another 4 days in this B&B. My... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
