I proposed to my wife in this hotel, back when we had little money and were just starting off in life. A quaint property, boasting a good position 5 mins from Rembrantsplein, I have fond but fuzzy memories of the place. The room overlooked the street but I didn't notice much noise. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby.... More

We stayed there for one night. We arrived around 12pm and the room was already available. People were very kind and friendly. The location is perfect (city center), especially for a short stay in Amsterdam. The room was huge with a small kitchen (sink, fridge, coffee machine, glasses,...). Further, we had a very nice balcony. Unlimited Wi-Fi is available (FOR... More

We arrived in Amsterdam around 9:00 AM and were able to check into our room right away. It was a great start to the trip. The room was very large for Amsterdam will a great view of the canals and the front desk staff is amazing as is the location. They also have a Nespresso machine in the room and... More

Really good value for money hotel. My room had a small kitchen, coffee machine, desk space and plenty of room in the bedroom and bathroom. The staff are really helpful. The only negative is that the town clock chimes a loud tune every hour and I couldn't find a safe for my belongings in the room.

The hotel we booked through booking.com and at the last minute. It was really clean and welcoming. One of the three rooms we had had a lovely canal side view and a balcony. All bathrooms were immaculate and well presented. The hotel is simple and not luxurious but fastidiously clean and quiet. The only issue we found was that the... More

A cool hotel with big rooms, me and my wife was here in july 14. Not the best breakfast, and a bit expencive. But a really cool staff. But the rooms are cool and BIG. Would come back, but since you can get a cheaper hotel outside of Amsterdam we do that instead.

The hotel is very well located, ie , puts you in the middle of everything that interests in Amsterdam . The room is good , but the fact of having a staircase separating the bed and living room from the kitchen and the bathroom did not please us very much. The kindness of the Nespresso machine with 4 coffee doses... More

I recently stayed at Le Coin with three friends and was given a lovely spacious family room, more like an apartment to be honest. One room had two beds the other with three. Both rooms had a kitchenette, coffee machine and tvs, with the bathroom and toilet facilities joining the rooms together. The location is great close to Centraal station... More

This hotel is in a fabulous location and is a good value for the price. We reserved the two bedroom family suite for our family of five, and it was larger than apartments I've lived in. Two large bedrooms, both with sitting areas and kitchenette facilities, joined by an entrance foyer with bathroom/shower. But if you are booking this hotel... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
