Location was perfect, close to the train station. Easy check in and we were able to get in the room early. The lady on reception was helpful and friendly. Room was a bit tight, but very quiet and functional. Beds were very comfortable. Trying to take a shower the water was very hot, then too cold ...annoying. We kept on... More

We stayed at the Multatuli for 4 nights in Jan. Our room was very spacious, with a double bed and single bed, very comfy nights sleep! I assume we had a family room even though there was just two of us, however this was great for us! Basic but clean and exactly what you would need for a city break.... More

The hotel is in a good position, the breakfast is very good and the personnel is kind. There was a deep, penetrating smell of marijuana in the corridor, which forced me to try to hold my breath from the elevator to the room in order to not become a third-degree pot smoker. Trying to take a shower becomes somewhat of... More

This hotel, as others have noted, is right across the street from the train station so it's super easy to get to, just walk over. The staff was wonderful, very friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast. The room was small. I travel a lot and I like to see the places I'm in, so I really don't mind a small... More

We stayed here for 2 nights - Debra on reception was very helpful and our room was at the back of the property and very quiet as requested. Location was excellent, within walking distance to all attractions. Bathroom was good, wifi reception good and breakfast very good - wide range on offer.

Was really impressed with our stay here. Have previously visited amsterdam a few times and this hotel was by far the best for location. Room was spacious and really comfy bed. Breakfast was ok, not the best but something there for everybody.

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
