Perfect location, just across the street from the railway station. Our room overlooked the back yard, which allowed us to sleep with the window open, instead of using the AC. The breakfast was a nice surprise, with bacon, eggs, fruit, toast, bread rolls, croissants, basically everything we needed. The staff both in the reception and in the breakfast room was... More

I stayed here with my mum when we went to visit Amsterdam last year. My mum has arthritis and I asked for ground floor if possible but there were so many stairs up and down to the room even though there was a lift. Even the initial walk to reception we have to walk up about 10 stairs. Apart from... More

This hotel has very small rooms but they are clean, the staff are very helpful, breakfast is good. The water runs hot and cold and is hard to regulate. We had a good time exploring Amsterdam but paid the same money as friends staying at The Grand Legend Sofitel, in comparison this hotel is very basic but the location is... More

OK, this isn't a luxury hotel, but it's almost opposite Centraal Station and a great location for exploring the city. Staff are very pleasant, breakfast choice was adequate and room is small and very basically furnished. Our room had a very soft bed (we prefer something firmer) and was at the front, so very noisy if the window was opened.... More

This is near the train station and tram lines, in walking distance of lots to see and do. And it offers a fine breakfast--scrambled and boiled eggs plus the wonderful cold stuff (cheese, meat, cucumber and tomato slices) that makes European breakfasts memorable. There are plenty of bread choices, including toast, and condiments that include sun dried tomatoes and olives.... More

All I ever really want from a hotel is a comfortable bed, a clean bathroom, a reasonable breakfast. This covered all those requirements very well. As an added bonus it is very close to the railway station which in turn is close to numerous bars, restaurants and tourist sites. The bedroom, with two beds was a little on the small... More

From when we walked in we were greeted with a smile by Deborah. Room was excellent, comfortable and clean. We had a room overlooking the water which was great. Breakfast was outstanding. Great staff and wonderful service. Location was amazing as you are walking distance to red light, bars, cafes and restaurants. Overall a great place to stay, would definitely... More

We didn't get off to the best start as we were given a twin room (room 123) instead of the double which I had booked for our wedding anniversary. It was very small and dark. There were no more rooms available until the next day when we were given room 231 which was a family room. very big and bright with... More

The hotel is at a walking distance from the central station, which is easy when you arrive by train from Schiphol Airport. It is a small hotel located in an old townhouse entirely renovated inside. There is an elevator up to the two upper floors. The room was small with all the moder amenities: inibar, flat-screen TV, A/C, WiFi, tea/coffee-maker,... More

Stayed here on a stag do with 5 of us in total, myself and the stag stayed in the top floor (51 steps to get there!) Room was perfect, 2 very comfy beds and a small but perfectly formed bathroom. Our only gripe was the air con didn't work and our room got extremely hot late afternoon/ early evening due... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
