garden level room, pretty basic but as expected having booked on last minute .com Staff helpful and friendly but probably won't return. Very well located close to station and busy heart of Amsterdam if looking for local action! Bit noisy at night but hey this is a party city.

I needed a hotel on the fly and close all the action. This place was perfect. Easy access to all the bars, restaurants, shopping and sights. Fast and courteous front desk staff. While them room was small, it did the trick for a short stay. Clean and convenient.

Perfect location for exploring the red light district without being too noisy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Clean modern but small rooms. If the primary focus of your trip to Amsterdam is to explore the red light district then this is a great place to stay.

- cool day but still the airco didn't work very well, plus could only open the window a few inches, so we were too warm even though it was cool outside! - bathroom spacious but toilet crammed up against shower -- ?? - shower was good temperature & strength, but you couldn't close the door and put a towel down,... Üç gün kaldım. Aklımdan çıkmıyor. Güleryüzlü çalışanlar & temizliği & kahvaltısı süper. Tekrar geleceğim. I stayed for three days. I can not forget. Genial & cleaning staff & breakfast. I'll come again.

If you don't mind a small and minimalist room… The location of this hotel to the red light district and the train station is fantastic… Downstairs bar is very nice and the staff is very helpful. No wash clothes were available so expect a typical old European style hotel. This place is certainly about LOCATION! Our room did reek of... More

The hotel has a good location, close to city center and the animated area, offering some other advantages. Rooms are small, clean, nothing special, but more than enough for a city break or fun trip with friends and the stuff is very friendly and helpful. (Polish, Czech). A special plus for the 8 euro breakfast, good value for money. One... More

It was my first to,ee visiting Amsterdam and I wanted a cheap but clean hotel. I found this hotel on a comparison site. It said the rooms were small but in actual fact they were very comfortable. The reception and bar are stunning. Staff very friendly. Free wifi. Beer was the cheapest around by far. Breakfast was simple yet filling... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
