Doria hotel is located in an excellent position just of Dam Square on Daamstraat. The rooms are very small and basic and a bit drab and breakfast is basic continental with little choice. On the plus side, considering the location it is cheap. The rooms are clean and lift services most floors however there are steep steps to the reception...

Great location as it's right on Dam Square and a walk from central station. This is a hotel for tourists as it's not quite there for business needs. WiFi ok but rooms tiny and very little work space..

I stayed 2two nights at the Doria, and I could not have picked a better location, pretty much ground zero in downtown Amsterdam, the hotel is a little dated and the elevator is small, but nice clean rooms , with great staff and a great restaurant

It is so lovely and it has many varieties (1-2-3 persons) I would recommend it for staying in the heart of Amsterdam. Plus you do not need to pay for any transportation. from the Cafes. Suitable for couples as well as for friends.

Didn't stay in the hotel but we had a meal in the restaurant when we were over on a short break. It really was lovely, the tastiest penne arrabbiata i have ever had and my husband enjoyed the pizza too. Was very reasonably priced as we found some places in Amsterdam quite expensive

A very good, centrally situated, budget priced hotel. Good value for money but it is a small and rather plain room, clean with a shower and ensuite.A good breakfast is included. Perfect position for exploring the city-just behind Dam Square. Good food at the attached restaurant. Free internet.

good hotel for this price. Clean, nice staff. Room is very small. There are 3 restaurants for the hotel owner, all of them are great and you have 10% discount from the hotel. Breakfast is good enough.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
