Excellent location in between central station and Dam square. This means lots of attractions are in walking distance, include boat cruises (1 min walk away) dam square (2 minute walk). Good rooms, nice modern decor. A very hard working girl in the cafe at the bottom of the hotel which serves snacks, as well as being the hotel reception. Only... More

Booked online. Looked like a great location and it was. Arrived in Amsterdam in the morning, had a 2pm check in but was offered to leave our luggage at the hotel until it was time to check in and you can leave your luggage there after you've checked out which was very convenient for us because we checked out at... The staff here are very friendly, and the rooms very clean and comfortable. The location is very close to Centraal Station. There is a pub underneath the hotel and bars alongside it. would definately stay here again. Also has free wifi.

Loved this hotel, right next to the red light district and a 10 minute walk from centraal station. Staff are really polite. The bar at the hotel is brilliant and play good music. The breakfast served was amazing. The stairs are steep, but that's expected in Amsterdam. Will definitely stay here again.

Just stayed at this hotel for a long weekend break - room was a fairly decent size considering most places in Amsterdam are small. Very clean with everything you could need for a short stay. Great location - everything is only a short walk away. We were on the top floor and the stairs are very steep but for the... More

Nice relaxing and chill environment. Nice music and fair drink prices. The redlight disctrict can be expensive but this was a great find. Definately will be back the next time i am in town. The staff was exceptional especially the man behind the bar .

Came here end of June and booked a superior room. All I can say is wow! I have visited Amsterdam around 20 times and can honestly say that this is the best place I have stayed. Room was great, staff were friendly and helpful. Very central, very clean, and for all those moaners about the step stairs..... this is Amsterdam, it's... More

It is a very small hotel, and the rooms are small, but have everything you need. The bathroom is ok, the rooms are clean. Be aware that there is no elevator. The bed was very good. We had a room at the top floor in the middle. It was nice we had a window that could be fully opened. It... More

First two visits were met with lovely, friendly service. Third and final visit was the complete opposite, sadly. Originally we found this a great place to sit outside of and soak up the atmosphere around us. Not jam-packed like the place next door or the Grasshopper, just right. Spotting a few locals there too was a good sign in our... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
